On annual leave at the moment, so started fhe book while overseas and loving it. Sort of regret hearing about the audio version after already buying the original as would have liked to listen to Bruce reading it.
Then got home to my second ticket artiving so I am one happy camper and roll on February.
The audio book is 16 audio CDs, no thanks.

I would be interested however if it was available digitally.

That makes sense given a CD is about 72 minutes of audio and the story I linked a week or two ago said it's 18 hours of him reading the book.

Even it was available to download they would probably have it over 3 or 4 files, but yeah downloading it would be a lot more convenient than having to buy a 16 CD pack.

chances off hearing anything from 'the rising'?

lonesome day is one of my favourite songs.

Usually a pretty good chance he'll play The Rising, and possibly Waiting On A Sunny Day. Lonesome Day probably pops up every third show. Usually interchangeable with The Rising. Occasionally plays Mary's Place and My City of Ruins. The rest are pretty rare.

Make a sign for Lonesome Day if you want it :)

I will put it out there...cant stand Mary's Place...about the only song of the past 16 years that grates.
I like it, a lot of fun. Great feel good song that leaves you with a smile on your face.

The Rising has some good tracks but most of the record does little for me.
Best album he's done this century IMO, with Magic.

I've been listening to Tunnel of Love a fair bit lately. It didn't really resonate to the fifteen year old Gough, introduced to Bruce via Born in the USA, but the older me can appreciate it a lot more, and there are some fine songs on it.
Tunnel of Love (track) has tremendous imagery and metaphors.

Describes married life very well. Excellent lyrics.

One question.

Name one song you don't like?

As 18 yr old Gaso didn't get.

As a 25 yr old he sort of got.

As a 48 yr old he gets.

Off the top of my head, songs I don't like:

The Fuse
Let's Be Friends
Working On The Highway
Darlington County
Sherry Darling
Wild Billy
Crush On You
Rosalita (sue me)
Spare Parts
57 Channels
Easy Money
Basically all of Working On A Dream album
Plus a heap of the ultra-country-infused B-sides spread out over his career

The Fuse is one of my favourites from The Rising. Love how dark/haunting it sounds.

Workin' On The Highway I didn't like much, but since hearing it live and listening to it more, I really think it's a lot of fun.

Crush on You, ugh! Another one to go on my list. Garbage, how did this get on over Loose Ends!

Rosie, you horrible man.

Early on during my Bruce fandom I didn't like BITUSA. "Too commercial, too well-known, his deeper cuts are better" etc. Which is a bit elitist. His deeper cuts are awesome but BITUSA is also fantastic record. Some wonderful pop songs and cleverly written.

I love the record now.
