10.30pm roll call is ridiculous.
Yep AEC management dont think they can handle 200 people lining up at 8 or 8.30 whilst Nick Cave is playing inside the building. They expect it to finish at 10pm so logic would have said by 8 or 8.30 he would be in the building singing and so would all those who have tickets to watch him. I reckon he might play a bit late and the clash management were worried about will happen.

Oh? Thought he'd be one of the first. Wears glasses right and has a daughter (just so we're on the same page haha).

Are you coming to Melb?

Yep, same page. :)

The line started here before anyone, including them, arrived from Perth......

Nah no Melb for me......

Syd 1 is my only other, for parenting logistic reasons. :p

(I'm going to that, and then the missus is going to Bris.......)

I'll see you in Sydney!

Shame I will probably have no idea who you are lol

Ok if you want to brush up, then you need to learn these classics if you don't know them well. Looks like all the shows will start with New York City Serenade unless he can't find a string section in your city. This was from Brisbane 2014 beautifully shot by TheAussieMusicMan who took several great videos over the 2013 and 2014 tour. The band opened the show with Bruce's version of Stayin' Alive as a homage to ex Brisbane boys the Bee Bees and it had the string section. That's on you tube to watch.

Then from the same album The Wild The Innocent and the E Street Shuffle and same side ie B you have Incident on 57th Street. Once again beautifully shot by TheAussieMusicMan from Hanging Rock show 2 in 2013. It's his 8 minute version of West Side Story, IMO.

As I wrote in my review of the show a few days later - "I was in Row S of the seats so about 15m back from where the seats started and about 35m from Bruce and the main stage. When Incident was played on Sunday Night I made a deliberate effort for about 30 seconds to look at the crowd all around me - took a 360 degree look and probably looked at 1,000 people. You could tell that many, ie the majority didn't know the song, but the majesty of the words and the brilliance of the music had them totally focused on the stage as Bruce had them wrapped up in the palm of his hands."

And if you don't know Rosalita also from side B of that album - 3 songs that go for about 25 minutes there but 30 on stage, (all written at 24 years of age), then you gotta learn this one just in case. You can find all words to his songs at

There is lots of videos from this song performed in Oz concerts, but this version I first saw in 1980/81 is still my favourite. From the 1978 Phoenix concert, the day after he did that great show at the Roxy in LA where 8 of the first 11 songs in his 40 song Live 1975-85 box set comes from. There is a link to that show on You Tube - audio only.

Haha thanks for the help in getting me up to par. I have to admit that whilst I have listened to WIESS (as the acronym goes) before, I wasn't aware that so many of the songs that he performs are from it. I might have to keep it on loop on my iPod over the next few days as prep, in addition to songs that I haven't heard that made this list by Rolling Stone magazine (http://www.rollingstone.com/music/lists/100-greatest-bruce-springsteen-songs-of-all-time-20140116).

Am really hoping for renditions of Ghost of Tom Joad and Murder Incorporated, which are probably two of my favourite Bruce songs.

I do wonder what sort of show Adelaide gets with just being the one show there.

Be interesting to see if he dives deep and does the Greetings & WIESS stuff as a collective, or it's a bit of everything.
If he does all of WEISS I could pretty much die a happy man. I know that record backwards.

The E Street Shuffle was a perfect song for the big band version of the E Street Band. I have doubts he will do it now that its back to 9 musicians.

For the Adelaide show the roll call is at 60 I got 58 about 10 minutes ago. Ummed about checking it out last night which was 38 at 8pm close off. Next roll call is 2pm followed by 8pm.

Sunday will be 8am then12 noon and an evening time to be confirmed as there is an event on and management don't won't a big group milling around when people have to enter. Monday at this stage will be 8am 12 noon and 4 or 5pm roll call and line up.

Kelly is #1 and sitting in her deck chair when she's not taking 5 or 10 minutes off this arvo. Go to the eastern side The Parmount gate/entry( ie same entrance for GAs as 2014 shows) and then walking 20m towards Port Road at the zebra crossing and bollards and she is sitting in a deck chair on the right in some shade provided by the car park building.

Thanks REH. When my son gets out of bed and is ready to go I will be there for my number!

What time do the Adelaide GA doors open?
I reckon around 6 -6.30ish as the line up starts at 5pm and on past history it takes about an hour to get into your spot in the pit and then the rest of the GA's come in. Maybe give AEC a ring.

So excited to be off to see Bruce in a few hours, waited years for this concert.

I notice he didn't do Born in the USA in Perth, I am really hoping for a bit of nostalgia he does it in Adelaide.
