I just can't watch ch7 games with Bruuuuuce commentating.A shame considering his co-commentator is one of the best.

The problem with this country (apart from Adelaide) is that everyone is so bloody conservative. Anyone that's in charge of anything is just too afraid to try something new so we get stuck with the same pack of crap like we always do.

At least Fox Sports has much better commentators than Seven & Ten combined. The Fox Sports commentators call the game better than what Seven & Ten are doing at the moment.

Must agree unfortunately....
I used to be a big "Bruce" fan , but I just cringe now when he gets excited.
Dont know when or where he lost it, but he has definately lost it IMHO.
I think deep down he knows he has lost his mojo and its only a matter of time before he departs...just hope he is not alone when he does because some of his mates and off siders are terrible.

Couldn't agree any more, I struggle to watch games on channel 7 the commentary is that bad. In fact I know of some people who would turn on the radio and mute the sound when a live game was on, then CH 7 decided they wouldn't show any damn live games, so they stopped watching altogether. It would be nice if we had a time machine and brought back Peter Landy, Lou Richards & Bob Skilton to call games for 7 rather than this lot. Sandy Roberts would be good too. By the way if you think Bruce McAvaney is bad now when calling AFL games...wait until the Beijing Olympics start on August 8.

We all wish, but it aint gonna happen! I'll tell you who else was very good yet under-utilised, Bernie Quinlan. An excellent special comments man who only had 4-5 years on channel 7 before the bastards decided not to keep him. MASSIVE loss to commentary!

Last year it took the footy show to ridicule him about using "special" and "clever" 30 times a qtr each for him to ease up.
Now Im getting really sick of he "squeezes to" or "he kicks a squeezy one along the boundary"
