Bruce's terrible camp comments (***MB Thread***)

bruce's commentary is shocking at the moment. I honestly think he is trying to be more clever than cometti with his calls but doesnt have the wit and it just ends up coming out like a very camp comment

eg. "imagine putting alan didak and steve johnson in a room. What would happen I wonder ?"..........what sort of a comment is that. is he gay ?

He seems to have developed a serious man crush on Didak.

I had to laugh at the at the Didak and Johnson in a room comment - "They're both so intelligent."

I know he meant footy smarts but it sounded pretty funny praising the intelligence of two guys who've made very, very stupid decisions in real life lately.

And if you're praising their footy smarts wouldn't you want to put them on the field together? What exactly are you hoping to see them get up to in that room Bruce? Maybe you could put a bottle of wine in there too just to speed things along.

He's still special. He gets some really undeserved harsh criticism on here - apart from Clinton Grybas who can't be with us, I couldn't name a better commentator... he makes the game exciting and he has a genuine love for the game and that is evident in his call...

I like Bruce. I've long suspected he's gay but who cares?

It just adds a bit of a interest to the call hearing him gush over whichever footy player he has the hots for at the time - even if they aren't even playing in that game. He managed to bring Didak up an awful lot considering it was Geelong vs Essendon.

i remember him on the ch7 sunday sports show and he had world champ michael johnson on (the sprinter) and i am sure bruce creamed himself.

Although I do have to question Bruce's taste in men if he has a crush on Didak. At least his last man crush Carey could be considered attractive.

Maybe his eyesight is starting to go?

The aftermath of that comment was pretty good, with Dennis saying that the room would probably be missing when you came back, and Bruce stating that that was a good answer to a silly question.

Like about 66.666% of South Australians, Bruce is definately hiding secrets. Just come out of the closet man..no-one really cares.

I think his commentary has improved of late. I think Denis might have had a word to him about toning down his homoerotic laden commentary. Since the preseason cup game where he literally growled into the mic that Daniel Jackson from Richmond was "like a big raging chestnut thoroughbred" i think he has gotten better.

He is very smart on his football when he concentrates on the game....not the guys in the tight shorts.I think Denis has been good for him.

Just imagine if Bruce commentated with that other closet dwelling South Aussie Dwayne?

Of all the TV AFL commentators, Bruce and Dennis are the ones I respect the most. Not so much for their aside remarks and knowledge of the game.
I think they are the best because they, at least, try to be impartial. Regardless of which teams are playing.
Most of the others are Victorian (DHs) callers that cannot see past the Victorian teams.

Coz Seven were out of the footy broadcasting game for a wee bit back then. I think Bruce got rusty. Plus, apart from Dennis the old team just isn't there. I don't think Sandy Roberts calls anymore, Ian Robertson and Peters McKenna and Landy are long gone. Dipper sold his soul to Dimmys for a fake wool beanie.

Besides Dennis, who has Bruce got to 'bounce' off? The human brain-drain known as Ox. Mr dunce cap Ricky O. Timmy Watson.
