Choco on SEN now
« on: Today at 05:24:32 PM »

Brian Royal is currently on SEN talking about the Tigers. Stated that the coaching panel have an expectation of how many games we will/can win this year, although will not state it publically.

Stated the skills of Deledio, Tambling and Meyer are outstanding.

Talked about key indicators being things like goals scored, winning consecutive quarters, implementing an exciting game plan that will be attractive to watch.

Coaches at the moment are really concentrating on skills and getting the players to understand the style of football they want to play this year.

Stated he has bought some of the programs that proved successfull at the Bulldogs, especially in relation to skills drills. Stated they are doing two sessions a week where they just go out and kick the ball with little or no pressure. This is designed to promote confidence in their kicking ability.

The game plan will encourage players to carry the ball and take on the opposition and part of that will involve improving our ability to protect the ball carrier.

Training drills are being implemented along these lines. Players need to be harder around the ball this year and provide greater protection to the ball carrier.

Speaks very well and comes across as someone who is very confident in his ability to implement the plans of the coaching panel.

God how well are we doing on the publicity stakes at the moment. Can't ever remember the Tigers getting so much media coverage. EVER.

The sponsors must be rubbing their hands together.

Hoping they are lining up to sign on.

Stated that he see's one of our strengths will be our bigman power and stated one of Wallaces strengths on match day, is his ability to rotate players and see's players like Stafford, Simmonds and Richo being rotated in the forward line.

Stated Raines is coming on very well and his style will fit in very well with the style of play that the club wants to implement. Stated both Roach and Raines have bulked up over summer.

Wallace has put in place a system to encourage old time tigers and former players back to the club, especially guys like Geoff Raines and Michael Roach. Has functions to encourage their involvement.

Said he doesn't think that Roach is a naturally gifted footballer, but has an excellent attitude and great ability to listen and learn. Reckons Roachy will make it.

David WHEADON has been doing a lot of work with Richo and the entire list over the off season on goal kicking. Aim is to improve goal kicking skills by 3-4% which means they will win 3-4 more games.

Captain will come from a group of 4 consisting of Kane Johnson, Matthew Richardson, Nathan Brown and Joel Bowden. Cogs not considered due to injury and believes that he has not had enough time in the system to take on the Captain roll just yet, but is definitely a future leader.

Campbo is very professional in his approach and has accepted he will play a lesser and different role next year.

There goes Coughlan. But it's quite obvious if he regains fitness he'll be a genuine contender. Out of the four mentioned, IMO it comes down to Bowden and Johnson, with Richo an outside chance.

I hope our captain is Bowden!! But it will probably be Johnson which will be good. Richo shouldnt be as he needs to concentrate on his on field performances more.

I hope your right and this is why.

Bowden Family is Richmond other then dud from bulldogs.
He played his first game with Richmond and he will play his last with us.
Last few years he has not had the best preseason which showed on field.
2004 B&F Winner after playing 1 game with Coburg.
Kane Johnson and Nathan Brown have played with other clubs and have been with us for a short time

JOEL BOWDEN IS THE MAN!
