Bryce Gibbs a Squib?

The thing that gets me is that a large, large portion of people on here havn't played football at an AFL level. It's very intimidating seeing a much larger body charging towards you, so much so that it becomes natural to pull out. Some players get unneccissarily bagged for incidents that are probably for the better. A crippled Thomas or Gibbs is no good to either side.

If Thomas is a squib, Bradley was a squib. Any one who plays AFL needs a certain level of courage. Some are recklessly courageous - Hunter, Riewoldt, Archer. Others play through incredible pain - Brererton, Harvey, Kelly.

Anyone out there knows they are at all times open to big hits, snapped tendons & ligaments, agonizing corks, broken bones and potentially career ending, even life-threatening head injuries.

Players whose orbit seems to be more on the fringes of packs are every bit as integral as those shovelling the ball out to them. We just think they are soft because their skills don't always include the "digger in the trenches" stuff. It's bullshit.

What he said

Gibbs and Dale Thomas are gonna be the 2 biggest punching bags for stupid, mindless opposition supporters for the next decade.

They are both stars.

I'm backing Gibbs to be the kind of 6'2 marking, goalkicking forward/onballer in the mould of Hird and Brad Johnson.

yes i've always looked at Gibbs being a Hirdy type player; one who may not be the fastest but who has ingenious positioning and even better disposal; that's what's gonna make him a mega-awesome player.

Im with you mate......Thomas is far from soft........ecpecially in the air........to have gone out there and get involved and compete as hard as he has with that skinny body shows enough courage IMO.

alright alright Thomas may not be soft; but can we stop praising him on a Carlton Board? The pie prob gets enuff on the Magpie Board!

He'll destroy sides when he gets 20+ possesions a match consistently. Best user of the ball in our side and has brilliant hands in close. Other players should be looking to give him the ball as much as possible

Buckley clone

bryce gibbs = squib and marc murphy is set to challenge brendan goddard for the most useless number one pick ever in the history of afl draft
TOOL

Why come on here talking up Carlton players. Surely that's for their supporters to do. I think your loyalty may be at question. Just because Squibs put his head over the ball once last night against a B grade Port Power side, doesn't mean the thought of Stephen Milne in a dark alley hase ceased to give him nightmares.
ANOTHER TOOL

In March 2010 Gibbo will turn 21. He will hopefully have just completed his 3rd full pre-season and should have 50 to 60 games under his belt. From then on I have no doubt he will become the next Nathan Buckley and be a standout AFL footballer.

Having just turned 19 a few days ago he is already a cut above anyone else his age playing AFL football.
Comon guys , stop comparing him to Buckley will ya . As good as he was , I'd rather compare him to someone like Hird if I had to do a comparison .
Gibbs will be good in his own right and I'd be happy to have Dale Thomass in our team as well BTW .

there was one bit of play (cant remember it exactely, too many beers), tredrea took a mark and gibbs bumped into him. doesnt sound much but held his footing and didnt take a backwards step.

s.hit explanation but if you saw it you know what im on about.

but when it came to a small forward pocket player called milne he SHAT HOLE

Yes it is :) Should have put my glasses on when reading the 6pt type.....................but my point still stands and the fact he is not yet 19 is even better :D
Touche'. This is one of the few reasons why it is good to be corrected by random BigFooty users:thumbsu:.

Maybe he has turned the corner. However, the real acid test will come when the Blues meet the Saints later on in the year and Sqiubs comes head to head, with that man mountain, Stephen Milne.

Another useless filth twat...

I thought that the cops didnt allowed internet access from remand...

I know you're only taking the urine here EddieB, but Sezzac knows his stuff. When the season starts around, take a trip over onto the D+T Board.

and I was sober at the time as well :)

So many Collingwood idiots, so few bullets

Reduce population growth, kick a Collingwood supporters GF on the chin

Australia would be the only country in the world that could get away with "racial cleansing"... we just tell the UN that they are all collingwood supporters.

Mind you, if it wasnt for a collingwood supporter and an essendon supporter, I wouldnt be here... and I love my late grandparents very much... the rest of them I could care less about...

That's scary. :thumbsu: :)
You can say a lot of things about Thomas but you can't call him soft. I'm not a huge fan of his, but the boy is absolutely fearless.

Oh look! It's Shaun McManus and Haselby!

I'm going go at the ball with my hand and duck my head in those contests.

I don't know why EBIAC started a thread like this.
