Massive thanks for the years of service Bryce and good luck for the future.

Gunna miss him but we are looking towards the future and it had to be done sooner or later but still somewhat saddening to see him go.

Hope the Crows look after you mate and no doubt they will and as much as i hate em ( In a good way ! ) they always look after our boys that are SA homesick.

Thanks for a wonderful career Bryce.

My 9y/o was crying this morning hearing that he was leaving.

Hope he tastes success with the Crows but he will always be a Blue for life.
I was so pumped when Bryce became a Crow....but after reading your post I have to admit I feel embarrassed. With all the trading to and fro it comes down to one thing. A lot of people are affected by this trade. Obviously Gibbs and his family are an important factor but also brilliant supporters like you son....Hopefully the traded picks will uncover another South Australian that he can pin up on his wall. Our state has a big influence on the Carlton Psyche....and vice a versa.

Can't help but feel that in a different time, he could have been one of our all time greats. Forced to play out of position and playing through such a poor era at the club, probably did not see the best of him or what he could have been.

All the best at your new club Bryce, wont miss the blind hacks out of the middle when under pressure, will miss the sublime skill when given time and space. Guess that is why you were a joy to watch and frustrating at the same time. Thank you for being so professional during what must have been a very trying time for you and your family.

I hope that the outpouring of love and support that we Carlton fans have displayed today towards Bryce demonstrates just how important Bryce was to the Carlton Football Club and why we fought so hard to not only keep him but to ultimately get the best possible deal for him. If it were as simple as a football player then it may not have happened. However, Bryce had become a significant part of the fabric of the modern Carlton Football Club. He'll be deeply missed but you can rest assured the majority of us will admire him from afar and continue to cheer him just maybe not as parochially.

Did the talk with the little fella post school tonight....let’s just say he wasn’t overly enamoured with finding out Gibba had moved on. Shattered actually!!

The great thing about this game is that I reminded him he found a gun to follow in 2015 in Crippa and then multiple players over the last 2 years that we picked up in the draft, traded for and celebrated.

We now have a bro date booked in for draft night with ice cream and popcorn and will celebrate the new batch of guns to watch and look out for in the coming years.

We enjoy and celebrate the guns that come through the club and show their exceptional gifts to us on a weekly basis but we cherish and love the club that they play for more...

Growing up, I had both...nowadays it’s about the club and the emblem on the front of the jumper as the only thing that is guaranteed to give us joy and sorrow for the term of a career or a life. Pretty shit really, but it m just glad this club has finally made it into the 21st century no matter how much the young fella feels crap about it.

Can't say I have ever had time for Carlton fans after issues that used to come up at Princes Park when I went to games as a kid to watch the Crows - and didnt really give you a second thought when I heard we could get Bryce to our club. Listening to Bryce today and reading many of the messages about his time as a Blue has changed my opinion after all these years. I don't think we as Adelaide supporters - even after losing high profile players these last few years - really appreciate taking a "heart and soul" player from your club. We may find out next year with Sloane.
I hope for the Blues that the trade today works like the move Adelaide did a few years ago when we moved on Bernie Vince - and picked up Matt Crouch

Good luck

Been to court today.

Failed the metal detector, and had a jolly good feel up all the same, considering I wasn’t wearing a belt.

Swore on a Bible.

Drank water and did the whole Lana Turner in the witness box.... true dinks. I swooned.

Did the Perp run on Angas St.

Bought Cannolis, went home, did Trade Week, went back out, bought beer, rang family (not advised).

Drank beer, listened to Johnny Cash, bought pizza, had a ciggie (first for the day), leaned back and whack...

Bryce has gone, and Brian is playing live with the Beach Boys in the magnificent Heroes and Villains.

That’s a day.

I haven't done that much since '06.

Man, when he was choking up in that interview talking about the club and his mates and the well wishes he got, and how hard it was. Nearly lost my shit myself.

Difficult year for him after last year, cameras in his face constantly, dealing with that pressure of the failed trade.

Professional through and through.

You sometimes forget that he's still a young man at just 28 years of age, with a young child, living in a professional sporting fishbowl and dealing with some important decisions, involving not just his career, but also family, partner and mates.

Im guilty of missing the human side myself sometimes. There are real human beings here, living inside this crazy made up thing we call football.
Nicely put Mal

Bryce is a beauty. You watch them come in as kids. They make their mistakes (almost none in Bryce’s case) under the intense scrutiny of the footy public, and most importantly you watch them mostly handle themselves as adults generally with dignity later in life. He’s no saint but he’s a really good player who made a few mistakes in his personal life (who doesn’t) and who gave enormously to our club. Best wishes Bryce. I don’t like the Crows much, but I will never boo you.

It's interesting because when I spoke to my young boy tonight, he was sort of ok. Not because he didn't like gibba, but because that's how footy is nowadays.

Shame really.

Wish him all the best at the crows. Wish he could of been a Carlton great though.
