Lyons averaged more score involvements and more contested possessions.

Compare their stats and he compares very well given he spent less time in the midfield.
We picked up Wright for nothing. This past year he averaged 20 touches, 4 tackles and kicked 22 goals. Lyons averaged 2 extra touches, 1 extra tackle and kicked 15 goals. Wright did this in 15th best side. Your own club has rated him below average based on wage yet you talk him up as something that we should get excited about. Wright kept Lyons out of your side.
SOS can see through the crows bulls@/t because we got his equivalent last year for nothing.

Elite, don't take this the wrong way, but Lyons + 13 will not cut the mustard, given the circumstances. I guarantee you that will not be the deal

Lyons could be on the way up, I open minded about that. But we want someone, that is a full time midfielder. If your club, is not willing to let go of a young midfielder, I suggest they should engage a 3rd club to make it happen.

Or can we go to mediation, may I suggest Mick Gatto to oversee discussions....

There is every chance you will do the same to Lyons in the next year or 2 as well. Clubs don't hang on to blokes that have played 55 games in 6 years for long. Milera and Knight will both get games infront of him next year. As well as Gibbs if the trade gets done. Good solid depth player for top teams.

I'd ******* hope someone sitting on the HFF gets a decent number of score involvements.

To all the crows posters telling us that some variation of a mid first, Lyons and a partially used scratchie is a FAIR trade...

We're not interested in fair. He's a required player contracted for the next 3 years. Find something we can't refuse or **** off.

105 pages of this shit.
What is the status of the scratchie though ??

If you think he's just been sitting on the half forward line you haven't been watching him play.

He's also played midfield. He is averaging only 5 possessions less s game than Gibbs, only 50 metres gained less a game but more contested possessions.

Spot on.

If the starting position is 13 + Lyons is just the opening offer.

They are seriously committed to him, publicly.

He is seriously committed to us, contractually.

We are in a great position.

#MakeCarltonGreatAgain :D
you had to go there...... at least there is more chance of that happening than the other

I was under the impression that he was spending minutes on the wing/HF when he wasn't in the core midfield rotation, do I have that wrong?

If he's so good why do you want to give him away? If your midfield is so weak why are you giving us this midfielder when you need them?

I think you're onto something WOM.

Team lacking in midfield depth trying to pawn off their sixth best midfielder is serious alarm bells.

Because we have too many of Lyons type in our team and Gibbs is better. That's why we are are offering a first round pick as well.
We also have too many Lyons types in our team, so it doesn't really benefit us to bring him in for Gibbs, whom we don't have enough of.
