Just trying to work through the options open to Adelaide, in regards to a possible trade:

1. This years and next years first picks....................Adelaide would be shot down should they buckle to this.
2. #13 & one of McGovern or Cameron....................Adelaide won't do it.
3. #13 and a fringe player.....................................Carlton won't do it.
4. #13 and next years second................................Carlton won't be happy but not out of the question if we're happy to see Gibbs go.

Just seems to me that Adelaide may have to get creative, as some have said. None of the above seem to fit.
Or...or...how do we get creative and offer Adelaide something that could snag us the two first rounders?
Adelaide send 13, 53 and Lyons to Gold Coast.
Carlton send Everitt and Graham to Gold Coast, and Gibbs to Adelaide .
Goal Coast send 8, 22 and 44 to Carlton.

ADELAIDE:
In - Gibbs
Out - 13, 53 and Lyons

GOLD COAST:
In - 13, 53, Lyons, Everitt and Graham
Out - 8, 22 and 44

CARLTON:
In - 8, 22 and 44
Out - Gibbs, Everitt and Graham

How would they do that as it's somewhat dangerous to predict what may come about next year?

I don't think Adelaide have a second this year.
Right. Well apparently Lyons is good enough to earn them pick 22 or so I am told.

Staggers me this whole situation...
Here you have a contracted player who happily signed a 5 year, $3.25million agreement with his employer (knowing full well that he is likely to have a baby in that period) now seeking a move home because his partner can't find support!? Please!
I mean forgive my lack of sympathy but if my partner was earning $650k a year and living the high life I would find a way to make it work. (at least until his contract expires.)
For god's sake buy your bloody parents a pad in Melbourne and put them on as full time nannies if you have to....you can certainly afford it!
Really disappointed in Gibbs & his partner for their lack of respect in this whole saga - it's a total cop out.
Sensing a name change ...

I think Adelaide need to consider what young gun they can lose, that does not eliminate their chance of winning a premiership in the next 24 months.

Would McGovern leaving hurt their chances? Probably not at this stage

Would Lever leaving hurt their chances? Probably not at this stage

Heavy cost benefit analysis required. They obviously came in thinking we would roll over. It hasn't happened. They need to save a lot of face in front of their supporters now to justify how they let their chance at winning a premiership (Gibbs) slip.

My only concern is that we are relying on Pick 13 to fulfil other trades, and our whole recruitment strategy is being stalled because of Adelaide's inability to keep discussions out of the media. Make no mistake they deliberately made it public to try and force us into submission.

We are more than happy with that situation as well. You guys should go after Tom Rockcliff, he will come much cheaper.
I agree Rockliff doesn't concern me either if the deal holds up other trades so be it, who ever can walk away from the deal has the best bargaining power in comfortable with the development of our mids with crouches going to be even better this year and Cameron and Milera about to have a go in then Bri g smith who's an AA into the mid,

Thought they could literally bully us into taking a lowball offer through the media.

We got SOS on the job now, have fun with that, Adelaide.

So is SOS is metaphorically doing to Adelaide what he did to Carey and Ablett in '95 final series.

Scragging, pulling their jumper, squeezing their balls .......

We could always offer them a player on the fringe of our best 22 (ala Lyons) to go along with Gibbs in exchange for their two first rounders. They could sell it to their fans that they've paid 1 first round for each.
