Gibbs would've kicked 7 and set up 3 others if he played today, he loves the hard stuff and would've relished the insane pressure the Tigers put on, he also would've won the NS and the half time sprint.
Could've helped curb Martin and Prestia who dominated.
Could've helped free up the Crouch bros and Douglas who weren't at their best today.
Could've swung forward of centre and actually provided the forwards with some quality delivery, or even kicked 1 or 2 himself.

No one is saying he would have made a quantitative difference like you're suggesting but when you have the momentum for the first 10 minutes and you can't capitalise then perhaps you need a little extra class to help kill the game before it has the chance to catch up on you!

I guess we'll never know if he was the difference. The only thing we do know is that Gallucci wasn't the difference.

Gibbs is a crows sliding door moment, when you’re in a window you have to have a crack.
You mean like Richmond identifying Prestia , getting the deal done , and winning the flag ?

As opposed to the amateur Reid grandstanding in the media during trade week then predictably/pathetically going the usual conservative AFC route ...

Wowee crows fans... imagine if you had of had gibbs in that game. I mean yeah.. you wouldnt of had that dud running in the sprint or your first pick this year but you might have won a flag... pity isnt it.
Wasn't much the Crows could do about Gibbs last year, they offered more than a fair price and your club didn't accept it, what were they to do, give you 2 firsts? Lol

So would i, and that's why Gibbs isn't worth 2 firsts, because if you're relying on the likes of him to win you a flag your window isn't open, he wouldn't have made one iota of difference today, and you know it.
How do you know? No one knows.

That's why the Crows will be so hurt. They were too scared to take the plunge and will forever be wondering if they let go their only chance.

No Cameron next year. No Lever. No Smith. Had the opportunity to bring home a gun mid in his prime and they baulked. Will be a long offseason of thinking what could've been.

They could've drafted Charlie Brown from the bush league, but they didn't, no one knows if he would've made the difference.

Crows were right not to over pay, but was your club right to hold a decorated player after 10 years of service against his wishes? I'm sure the Crows would've eased your concerns about his front loaded contract, but you are Carlton, common decency doesn't fly at your club.

Bloke signed a 5 yr contract and took the cssh
Then Reid the wan.er tries to poach him even without discussing it with carlton.
As a cwood supporter i know u dont value contracts..think malthouse
Get of your self righteous ass. We have already had grigg jacobs betts henderson and thouy walk out once their contracts ended.
Not not bending over for anyone on a contracted player who still had 3 yrs left on a contract which was front ended.

Bending over? He's a B grade player, Crows offered a fair deal, but you thought you could use the situation to make the Crows pay overs and it backfired, you didn't give a flying **** about the problems Gibbs had, campaigner of a club IMO.

As for a contract being front ended, it doesn't mean much, has zero effect on your cap going forward, you only front loaded it because you needed to get to the minimum TPP which is 90% iirc, which isn't unusual for a struggling club.

Kind of, but i can understand the clubs thinking at the time, they thought the second first rounder would've been somewhere in the teens, but as we know it wasn't, happy with him as a player though, struggled with injury this year (latter half mostly) but i reckon he'll be AA quality in the future, needs to clean up his disposal though.
