If Crows had Dangerfield this year they probably would've won the flag. Not saying Gibbs is Dangerfield but if you have any clue about football Gibbs would be awesome in a top 4 side like the Crows and they desperately need more senior support for Sloane. 13 and a young non fringe player aged 20-23 (Crouch's, McGovern, Atkins, Cameron) will get it done like it or not Crows fans. Offering a player who wants to leave in Lyons who only broke into the team this year and an unknown in #13 is ridiculous, people overrate draft picks. You know what you are going to get from Gibbs who will more than likely go up a level like Eddie Betts in a strong well run club.

2 spots, with natural improvement from a number of your players isn't a big deal. You haven't got enough class on the outside, which was exposed in your final against Sydney.

You guys aren't that good.
who said we think we are ? that's why we are trying to improve our list and not give away all our young guns in meantime

Don't agree. Sydney still would have beaten us with Dangerfield in the SF.

Yeah if you single out 1 game sure but considering what Dangerfield did for Geelong this year Adelaide probably would've finished top of the ladder had he performed like that if he stayed.
Not a chance. Danger leaving improved the second tier. Geelong is having the same issue Adelaide did he and Selwood (Sloane) carried the team.

Will Adelaide also be supplying a candlelit dinner and lube?
adelaide have been ******* you hard for years. the romance in was lost long long ago. there's no more candlelight dinners or lube. just straight down to some rough hard ploughing.

surely you're used to it by now

having said that i think this might be the moment where carlton crack it and draw a line in the sand. "ENOUGH! what have you done for me lately"

Lately? Two of their top ten BnF finishers this year are former crows they got for near nothing

Gibbs has value set from past performance, whether he will be awesome at Adelaide or not is absolutely irrelevant to his worth. He's not 21 and about to break out.

Lyons doesn't actually want to leave either, more being forced out. Is best 22 though and would be next season for us should we not find a buyer.

That price is way too high. As you say we know what we'll be getting from Gibbs and it's not worth #13 and a best 22 kid going off past performance, even with a contract staving off the threat of PSD.

The way some supporters mouth off towards each other on here you'd think that both have actually achieved something for the last 20 odd years. D:&k measuring should be reserved for teams that have done something.
Most here with half a brain could agree that pick 13 will be used. The flogs come out for 2nd part of the trade. Blues have leverage because Gibbs is contracted whilst the crows can walk from the deal so where is the middle ground?
Crows have a need for class to go with the very good inside players they have. Identified by the club and some fairly knowledgeable blokes in the media like Bickley. They are also pretty close to flag.
Blues want quality kids that will compete with players from GWS and the dogs for example in the future. Lyon wouldn't get a game with either of them. Crows won't be giving up McGovern or Cameron. So what else is there? Picks??
How about a pick swap in 2017. Crows 1st 15-18 mark. Blues 2nd 19-22, probably closer to 19. Works out to be a downgrade of about 4 spots for the crows.
Crows should back themselves in, top up and make a statement to other teams that they are in it to win it. It's not as if the crows are short on kids. 6 players made the under 22 team of the year squad so no gap in your list. SOS can say to Blues fans that we got 2 1st to soften the blow somewhat.
To much trying to get a win over the other club. Doesn't have to be. Hawks, Cats, Swans and Dogs just get things done.
