The way some supporters mouth off towards each other on here you'd think that both have actually achieved something for the last 20 odd years. D:&k measuring should be reserved for teams that have done something.
Most here with half a brain could agree that pick 13 will be used. The flogs come out for 2nd part of the trade. Blues have leverage because Gibbs is contracted whilst the crows can walk from the deal so where is the middle ground?
Crows have a need for class to go with the very good inside players they have. Identified by the club and some fairly knowledgeable blokes in the media like Bickley. They are also pretty close to flag.
Blues want quality kids that will compete with players from GWS and the dogs for example in the future. Lyon wouldn't get a game with either of them. Crows won't be giving up McGovern or Cameron. So what else is there? Picks??
How about a pick swap in 2017. Crows 1st 15-18 mark. Blues 2nd 19-22, probably closer to 19. Works out to be a downgrade of about 4 spots for the crows.
Crows should back themselves in, top up and make a statement to other teams that they are in it to win it. It's not as if the crows are short on kids. 6 players made the under 22 team of the year squad so no gap in your list. SOS can say to Blues fans that we got 2 1st to soften the blow somewhat.
To much trying to get a win over the other club. Doesn't have to be. Hawks, Cats, Swans and Dogs just get things done.
The kids name is Lyons

Good player and happy to keep him

I know who he is. Live in Adelaide so all things crow is rammed down our throats on a daily basis. Just a spelling mistake.
I know crows supporters and the club rate him, that's why you offered him a fair contract to convince him to stay......
My point is that he wouldn't get a game at those clubs and that's what the blues will need to be aiming at.
Rather than address my spelling mistake why not comment on my proposed trade?

Who is most likely to be a part of Carton's next Premiership ... Gibbs or Pick 13?
Bryce doesnt get injured - he is a Mitchell, Thompson type player that will play in his mid 30s and play well due to his skills and decision making. Bryce was never a quick player.

So I think he has seven years in him... we need him to protect the youngsters in midfield we are going to bring through this year.

Don't see Lyons having seven years of football... footballers that depend on pace with injury history usually end their careers early no matter how good they are or their performance deteriorate too fast after the reach 31 due to endless soft tissue injuries.. Gary Ablett being a case in point.

Jimmy Bartel is 33 and definitely has another year or two in him.

Yeah of course, Gibbs will be sipping lattes in Adelaide.

Get off your high horse, you're not getting him unless we are satisfied with what you offer.
And you're not getting anything unless we're satisfied with what we're giving up.
You dont get how this works do you?

Prefer to give you our 13 this year and 2nd round next year if you can give us back a 3rd or even 4th rounder next year

We have Jackson Edwards F/S coming through and need a pick in the draft before he is bid on

adelaide have been ******* you hard for years. the romance in was lost long long ago. there's no more candlelight dinners or lube. just straight down to some rough hard ploughing.

surely you're used to it by now

having said that i think this might be the moment where carlton crack it and draw a line in the sand. "ENOUGH! what have you done for me lately"
Honestly if we don't win a premiership for a while I hope STK does after reading this haha

Lyons would get a game at any club in the league, especially based on 2016 form.

You reckon the Bulldogs and GWS would pick lyons?
Bulldogs yes for sure. His half forward ability is something they're lacking.
Better footballer than guys like Jong, Kobe Stevens etc who played a lot of footy for them this season.

GWS is debatable. Possibly not.

Regardless, hes far from the spud you guys are painting him as.

Seriously. It is very easy to say. Bit like saying a team will make the 8 next year but always hard to say who they will actually replace. Agree to disagree. Debatable with Jong. Stevens didn't make their team. Didn't call him a spud. I made the point that the blues aren't interested so why keep rehashing the point.

No disrespect but you are missing my point. If the blues are asking for pick 13 and one of young guns and you are offering pick 13 and Lyons and it's not getting done then why keep going over the same ground. Lyons is worth say a mid to late 2nd rounder? Then why would the blues accept a 2nd rounder in the mid to late 30's and throw you back a 3rd rounder in the late 30's early 40's. It is now a worse deal. C'mon mate think before you post.
I am trying to work on what is probably being debated by the clubs not what we all think they are worth. Trying to do a deal between 2 parties requires negotiations with both parties starting at their high points and working down from there. By all reports we are not going to get McGovern, Cameron or Crouch so let's move on. Blues aren't going to accept pick 13 and Lyons type value so let's move on. So what is the next step. Blues have to come down crows have to come up. What do you think that is?

Have you actually watched Lyons? Even know who he is?

Arguably it's part of the reason he's being forced out. He doesn't have pace, or freakish skills. We have a couple players in our reserves (Menzel, Milera) with that fighting for his position. We all know who wins that fight.

He doesn't get injured either. I don't actually think he's had a serious injury during his time at Adelaide.

Think Wright but better. That's who Lyons is.

Then the deal is off , happy to pay some premium on being contracted but not going to sell the farm to get Gibbs . He's not worth 2 1st round shots at the draft especially with the way Ogilvie nails his picks

You can keep him under duress if you don't want pick 13 and a 2nd rounder

Why would we over pay when we don't need to . We can attack FA next year with bundle full of $$ that the whole league now knows we hold

Gee mate take a deep breath you are missing this big time. We aren't doing the deal so what you think and I think is irrelevant. I'm trying to get your thoughts based on what we know.
A deal will be done. I am trying to work back from both clubs maximum negotiating position and see where we land.
If that is too difficult to work out or stomach let me know. I am getting the feeling that this might be a bit over your head. Apologies if I am wrong.
