I listened to the game and it sounded like Bryce was having another week off.

When I watched the replay the next day I was pleasantly suprised with his contribution.

Can't expect too much more after 3 to 4 weeks of not moving your legs much.

'Will be good for the run' and another winnable game against GWS and he should be back in full stride for the succession of tough games coming up.

After years of Bigfooty fans bemoaning Gibbs on the back flank, it has been amusing how many BF'ers have been commenting "it'll be good to get Gibbsy back and steadying the backline".

Judging from the players body language and press conferences this year, it seems that everyone is in agreeance that the team is more important than the individual. Players appear to genuinely want to play for Mick and Mick seems to give each player their own licence to play to their strengths.

With the lack of mental toughness that we have a reputation of having and the way Bryce has been used this year. I really hope sometime this season, maybe even this week, Bryce takes the game on himself off his own accord, and elevates himself into a top 10/5 player in the league. From what I'd seen this year, it's clear to me he has potential to become "THE MAN" in the midfield. I would not post this if I did not believe it. I hope that he too thinks he has it in him to dominate the game. But it's most effective when it comes from within, and not prompted by Mick, or other leaders in the team/club. Fingers crossed!

"I'm bemused that people say about him, 'Where's his improvement?'" Malthouse said.

"He is already a very, very good footballer. He finished in the top five of our best and fairest last year.

"I don't really get what Bryce has to do to convince people he's a good footballer and verging on a very, very good footballer."

Looking forward to Bryce in 2014. Can be hugely frustrating at times because we know what he is capable of but there's no doubting his quality.

Just about the most versatile player in the competition with his ability to perform to a high level in any position around the ground. Can play at either end as well as through the middle and have a real impact on the game. Personally I believe his worst position is as a midfielder and we're doing him and the club somewhat of a disservice by playing him there but there are smarter people around in higher positions at the club than I, who are better equipped at making that decision.

Has to be our FA priority. Every club across the competition will be in his ear and would love to secure his services. He's an absolute must keep player. Players of his age, experience and ability don't come around often and it will be an enormous loss should he depart at the end of the season.

Wonder how many will quote Parkin on Fox Footy to fill columns, talkback minutes and posts. The views that we should get an early pick will be quoted more than the positive points about Gibbs. Interesting comment that Bryce has the type of character that Parkin would build a side around. Hmmm.

Though Parkin wasn't big on going to the draft and passing up the chance to trade for experienced players. McKay and Camporeale were our two best draft picks from his era. Whitnall was a F/S pick. Kouta, Ang, Allan and other AA players were all zone picks. Fev came minus a brain.

You can still find good players with character in the draft.

So both mick & parko have both said publicly this week they would build a team around Gibbs. Great to hear :)
