For those who don't know, on the Marngrook Footy Show today, they had Adam Goodes on as they were doing a Sydney special or something.

When asked who was the toughest player to go head to head with, he said that it was no contest: Judd. But that's probably obvious...

However when asked who was the toughest opponent he's gotten tagged by, he said Bryce Gibbs :thumbsu::thumbsu:

Nice work Gibbsy. Doubt people can use injury as an excuse now

Blues must deliver on big stage

"It's another big stage and we need to earn some respect back," Gibbs said.

"We haven't been the best starting side in the last month, that's something we'll address.

"It's not only going to be the start; it's going to be a four-quarter game. They are renowned for getting over the line in milestone games, so it's going to take four quarters to beat them."

7 handballs
24 touches
10 contested
71% effectiveness

7 marks
6 tackles
2 goals

Great all-round game, was damaging from the get go and held that throughout the whole game. Stepped up tonight when the game was getting away from us. Keep it up Bryce.

Just watched the replay, and gee he was good.

Bryce was everywhere and other than being damaging in general, he really helped to mop up some of our messes.

We should trade Gibbs to Adelaide...:eek:

Gibbs savours new scene

Gibbs cites the ability to adapt to several different roles within a game as one of the major hurdles he continues to work on and gives credit to the Blues' development staff headed up by Darren Harris, Robert Harvey and David Teague.

"They give us little focuses during the week that you go out and try and improve on," he says. "We sit down with those guys and go through our tapes to sort out what we did well and what we didn't during games.

"We're having a bit of a say as well which I think is great. We sit down and chat about things that we think might need improving or changed for the better.

"We're encouraged to voice our opinion to the leadership group and some things have been changed after the development group has spoken up, which has been fantastic. "I think it really is an important part of how the team has improved this year."

My man crush just got bigger.

Very good output for Gibbs considering the consistency he/and most of us would like hasn't really been there throughout the year...

16th for Marks (138)
6th for Inside 50's (106)
25th for Goal Assists (17)

Tackles - 6
CPossies - 9
UCPossies - 9
I50 - 2
2 Behinds
SC Points - 96

Decent first run for the year for Bryce. Whilst not a stand out performance, went about his game and did what was expected. Disposal was excellent, managed to get into a few scoring positions, unfortunately behinds being the outcome.

Helped set up a goal for Thornton in the last.

Good run in what was a pretty messy game, bit more size to him this year, and showed that strength, as well as his smarts in winning some hard ball.

Good start to the year.
