Although it will take more strings of games to convince everyone, you have to wonder if something has started to mentally click with Gibbs. It's not just today that he's been tackling, hard and making them stick and just generally pulling his weight a whole lot more.

I do think he hates Port though, haha.

I think Bolts has managed to get 100% commitment from him. With all the coaching changes, game plan changes, this one under Bolts clicks with him.
Even just a slight dissolution slightly takes away the hunger, the heart.. He does have it and is showing that, he believes in the coaching and now gives all..it doesn't take much to detract.. Look at your own jobs. He for mine is a kind of barometer, he is definitely on board the blues train.

Playing the kind of footy we've seen from him before in patches, and sometimes longer than patches (as far back as the 2009) season, but I've never seen his tackling and general physicality around the contest at anywhere near this level.

Yep you can see a belief and an understanding in his game now, and he is also playing for his coach.... Malthouse really must of been a flog

This bloke is easily our best player.

He can do it all, run, kick both long and short, tackle, mark overhead and is our smartest player by some distance. That little 20m kick with the inside of his foot in the last qtr was pure genius...

He was BOG against a gun midfield and played on a beast in Boke for most of the game!

Bolts is definitely the coach for him and Gibbs is the Rolls Royce for Bolts...

Remember, he was at half back in his formative years which was a mistake, if he was still there he would have been an AA multiple times!

This talk of 'hardness' at the ball is absolute garbage as he won a BnF as an inside mid and he dominated clearances that season.

He is Carlton through and through, i wish some of the pea hearts that we have had at the club had half the ticker and love for the club that this bloke has...

Please Bryce more of this and shut up the trade talk BS on this board :thumbsu:
Imagine watching him show this level of performance at another club? Waitesque.........

Enigmatic. Not sure what flick has been switched but the difference between his first and last four games is astounding.

Hunting the ball, involved at stoppages, kicking the clutch goals, creating for others, tackling with intent...and all the key stats back it up. Certainly been our most important over that stretch.

And the crawling over PA players to get to Simmo after the win is a side to Bryce I haven't seen enough of. Loved it.

Really intrigued to see how he goes against the physical North mids. Take the game on or back in the shell?

The Jacobs tag will be the next step in the evolution of Bryce, backing him in !!! ChunkyLover53 - post season apology to the group for on and off field distractions last season

Shame they have banned the sling/slam tackle. He is very clever at getting a good grip and using quick steps to tip scum off balance. He could have put a few sets of lights out but has smart enough not to do it.

Had one of his best games ever against Norf a couple of years ago. I think he'll go alright.
