After more than a decade at North Melbourne, Bryce Lewis’ time at the Roos has come to an end. This move follows a recent restructure of the recruiting department.

Lewis had previously been the club’s National Recruiting Manager.

North GM Football Cameron Joyce thanked Lewis for his service to the Roos over the past 13 years.

“As our head recruiter bringing in talent over the last nine national drafts, Bryce has been instrumental in assisting in our list build, which saw the club play finals in four of the past five years,” Joyce said.

“Tellingly, of those players on our current list, 32 of our 44 players were drafted by Bryce.

“We thank him for his hard work and commitment to the club and we wish Bryce all the very best in the future.”

North’s recruiting and list management team have been bolstered in recent months, with Mark Finnigan taking on the role of the club’s National Recruiting Manager, while Michael McMahon was also appointed as North’s List Manager following Joyce’s promotion to GM Football.

I think it's unfair to judge him on the 2016, 2015 & 2014 drafts, so from 2007-2013, by my count, he picked or elevated 68 players across three types of draft. Of those 68, 25 could be deemed as successes, 33 as failures and 10 as middle-ground types who either didn't get a fair run at it through injury or I couldn't be ****ed deeming them as successes or failures.

25/68: 36% success rate
33/68: 48% failure rate
10/68: 14% I can't decide/too injured to tell/too early rate

Can you tell me why Nielsen is a miss but Ray was a hit?

I feel as though Nielsen will be delisted at the end of his current contract. I think he's too short, doesn't offer enough offensively, and the knee injury doesn't help.

Ray was here to perform a role by being an off-field leader and helping "coach" our younger players. I think it's evident he did that. From a football sense he's probably a failure but given we only used a rookie pick on him we didn't lose too much.

Obviously all my opinion also.

Also I pretty much think you're on the money with your ratings except for Nielson and also I think you're wrong as far Black goes.

I think as far as his role goes in selecting talent, Aaron Black was/is a gun. I genuinely believe that Brad Scott has played him out of position, robbed him of opportunities and been ultimately coached badly. I'll put money on him becoming a star at Geelong.

Just don't rate him.
Based on what? Too soon.

Like others, disagree with that one, and Ray. You say it's pretty evident he was an off-field leader. What evidence?

I reckon there's a consensus emerging here FG. ;) Pretty good assessment otherwise though.

I wonder, however, how much we can congratulate or criticise recruitment managers, versus the list manager for decisions? But yeah, Rory Sloane >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> LA.

Can't win them all, I suppose.

TBH it's a fairly pointless exercise to look at Brewis' "success rate" in isolation, without comparing it to the recruiting of other clubs in the same period. 36% success rate might be in the top 5 recruiters in the league. Or it could be terrible.

If you're rating him based off simply the talent he's bought to the club, where does he sit? The 2011 draft is a huge hole, the 2013 draft looks like being a great one for a long time. 2014 could go either way. Has he been a success?

How much money would you like to put on? I'll take your bet.
