All class Nathan Buckley. I’ve been torn all year whether he should of been re signed, time will tell if it was the right move.

my prediction…he will get a job in the media and when hinkeys contract is done, he will end up at port adelaide as coach and get that flag. God I hope it isn’t against us!

You could certainly be right, it would be a fitting end, people always seem to forget bucks has a SANFL premiership with PA.

I also don't get the knock on PA from a lot of Collingwood supporters. We have far more in common with them than with any other team. The same type of club in two different cities. We should celebrate our similarities and forge a united rivalry against the rest of the competition. Then when we play against each other it's the battle of the magpie (even though we know Collingwood were the magpies first..and of course PA would wear the teal). I think it could be a great new rivalry.

Over the last 40 years prior to Port joining the AFL there was a strong tradition of PA players coming to Melbourne to play for the Magpies. Let's not forget the bond the two clubs once had.

Not sure if anyone caught it but Mark Korda went for a Scott Morrison type handshake after the game last night and it looked decidedly awkward. Buckley hardly embraced him and didn't look overly happy to see him.

I noticed too almost immediately the vision became available. Interesting!!

After looking through the photos on the CFC website, it's noticeable that he’s simply beaming most of the time. I think he’s a very relieved man actually!! Fair enough too. What he’s had to put up with over these nine and half years from Mick M at the start and the media, to say nothing of the simple bad luck he’s had with injuries, recruiting and list management issues and of course, umpiring decisions or lack thereof!!!!! (Grrrrr). Who wouldn’t want to leave that behind and take time to smell the roses!!

I agree with Country Pie - he was looking really worn out at the start of the season and he clearly stated in his presser that he didn't think he could commit to a further 3 to 5 years. I am envisaging that this will turn out to be the best result for Bucks himself and I'm so glad for that. Whether it also proves to be the best move for Collingwood, I'm not so sure.....time will tell.

What the haters will never admit is that much of the early troubles for Buckley's coaching tenure came as a direct result of Malthouses divisive and vindictive actions.

Buck's refusal to get down in the gutter with Malthouse in the media shows the difference between the two men - one a gentleman and the other a vindictive and twisted personality.

Give me a gentleman over a viper any day of the week.
MM has many flaws, but he picked us up when we were a rabble and laughing stock and turned us around massively. He's a Pies legend to me.

Port Adelaide Magpies are tops!

It’s the pricks in their AFL equivalent Power who suck balls.

I can't stand him and never will.

I am grateful for the flag but that's all.
He threw the '11 flag away to gratify his vindictive and vengeful nature.
No respect at all for him.
Don't recall anyone questioning the notion of a succession plan when Geelong smashed us by 12 goals in 09 prelim, his 10th year. He throws caution to the wind and uses first 3 picks in 2010 to get Jolly / Ball which gets us the flag. I'm glad that it panned out that way but does he do that if he gets 3 or 4 years?

Nobody would've cared less about him if he didn't win in 2010, I mean he was almost gone after R3 in 2002.

He was forced into recruiting Ball and Jolly by the board - they were ready to throw him out on his ear until Eddie stood up to them and forced a compromise that he recruit properly.
