In addition , we had 4 players go down with ACLs in 2012 on top of Brown and Davis retiring in 2011. Jolly and Didak were also on steep declines in form so unfortunately we were up against it.Sorry but it's just plain myth that we were building a dynasty in 2010. Look at our 2010 list. There was no youth coming through because we put all our eggs in one basket when we recruited Ball and Jolly. Then in 2010 trade period we recruited Andrew Krakouer, a mature aged footballer. All our youth at the club took the field in the 2010 GF. Several mature aged footballers like Frasier were still on our 2010 list but couldn't get games and were soon about to retire. Then you look at 2011. We played Geelong three times and got cleaned up three times despite winning every other game. Hawthorn were on the rise in 2011 and would soon overtake us in the subsequent years. Saying that Collingwood was building up a dynasty in 2010 is like saying Geelong was building up a dynasty in 2011. In fact it was the opposite with both sides peaking around 2010 and 2011. The only way we could have kept up the momentum was keeping every single play fit. When Dale Thomas went down with ankle problems that spelt the end of any chance of staying within the premiership window.
This has been argued 1000 thousand times. Whately, Riewolt, Jonathan Browrn, Jake Niall , to name a few.
Can you name many commentators that have made a statement to the contrary?
oh, Johnno Brown reckons something? Well that proves it then. He watches at least 3 Collingwood games per year, his opinion is worth a lot.
Little chance of that when the current president puts himself first, and the wannabe president does the same.Loved Buckley has a player.
Andrea Pirlo was handed a juventus title winning team. He failed to win the title the next season and was sacked.
Let's hope Collingwood puts the club first from now on.
This was not Buckleys fault but the club for putting him charge with no apprenticeship.
.
I’m glad the other 3 meet with your approval - that is so reassuring.
Slobbo is an expert in being a douche bag.I'm glad you think random people who barely watch Collingwood having an opinion on Buckley's future means anything. You're very gullible. Do you also think Mark Robinson is an "expert"?

We are heading for a sh*t storm of biblical proportions.
Buckley can watch and chuckle to himself.
I stated they believe he will be approached to Coach again - so Clubs by definition view him as a very capable Coach.
Unlike Neeld, Watters, McKenna, etc who have all disappeared from the radar of all Clubs looking for a new Head Coach.

I think I’ll give their opinion more weight than yours - no offense.
Think what you like then. It’s pure invention that it was all about Buckley and not doing what was best for the Collingwood FC. Malthouse wasn’t shafted in order to get Buckley into the job. Malthouse was self destructing in 2011. Have you listened to any of the interviews Malthouse gave in 2011? Are you familiar with how Malthouse’s coaching stint at Carlton went? Malthouse’s effective coaching career was finished in 2011. If Buckley hadn’t taken over it would have been someone else. All the decisions to do with list management around 2009 were done to give Mick Malthouse his best chance of winning a premiership at the club before he finished up. Buckley inherited a list in decline. In hindsight he should never have taken the job because he was on a hiding to nothing. He was never going to please Collingwood fans like you who were expecting a dynasty. This has been argued 1000 thousand times. Can someone please give this creature a bib."HELLO BUCKS. CAN. YOU. HEAR. ME?????

Brown may well be the biggest muppet to ever park his arse on a commentary chair, but his opinion earns him (I assume) a not insubstantial income as “an expert”… Yours?

You're saying we should value Brown's opinion more because Foxtel pays him for it? You make some amazing logical arguments.
This statement cant be understated. Its an historical fact that Buckleys list was in decline.. despite the popular narrative that Malthouse handed Bucks the youngest list ever.
Just look at the 2010/11 Grand final list
They were either not as good as they seemed at the time ...........Blair Toovey Macaffer N Brown Toovey wellingham Fasolo Dawes ...
Or they were short term fixes and/or players near retirement............Ball Jolly L Brown Tarrant Krakouer Didak Davis Johnson Didak....Maxwell not far behind...l
Or they were players who suffered long term injury ...........some of the above (Ball N Brown Krakouer Macaffer) as well as Reid and Thomas
Or they were just head cases... OBrien Beams Thomas Shaw (although Beams was AA under Bucks)
Or they went downhill fast and the game passed them by... Cloke
That pretty much leaves Bucks with Pendlebury Sidebottom and Swan.. and Swannies career was also cut short by a year or two
Of the players Bucks traded only Shaw and Beams had good/reasonable careers elsewhere.... and those trades yielded Adams De Goey Crisp and Greenwood so we were net winners.
Bucks also inherited ZERO young VFL talent.
