Channel nine just showed an interview with Geoff Walsh saying that buckley has done his right hamstring and will be out for the stantard 3 to four weeks  .

Terrible news for the club and would really piss Nathan off

Just heard it too! Wait for the standard trolling on our board, saying he is finished without a flag, we are doomed for bottom yada yada yada!

He will be back!

Has he just done it? There has been speculation for a while so if it is a new injury following concern previously it is a bad sign. Probably not great either way. Is it his bad leg?

apparntly just done it, and yes its definetly time for Medhurst to become a star, Richards to relieve Fraser up forward, and i think Didak is almost a certainity to play rnd 1 now.

But i still reckon we are in for a good season it just got a little harder today

He's a legend, it's tough watching a bloke being hampered by a chronic injury like this. Pies will find even tougher to kick a winning score now. Hope he gets back on the park and we see some vintage Bucks this season (but not till a week after you play the Blues). All the best.

Terrible news...one more and it could be it you would reckon. I know how tough he is, but at 34, turning 35, and constant niggles...now an actual injury...the future may be shorter for the great man.

So, Didak, Holland and Buckley missing early on, whether out or less than 100% fit...Medhurst, Davis, Thomas, Egan...up to you lot.

If it's his previously "good" leg, there's no reason why this should become chronic. It doesn't help our chances early in the season, but as I recall we beat West Coast without Buckley last year.

They were without Kerr. Punch Kirk, Kerr;)

Is it his bad leg?

No, it's actually his left hamstring, the good one. Age is starting to catch up to him which is common for someone his age and he won't be able to get any power through his legs. Unfortunately, unless we can pull something special out of the hat, he may have to retire this year without a premiership beside his name.

Yeah he has had trouble with it for a few weeks and it has now gone, considering he wasnt likely to play rd2 anyway and rd1 was a low chance, now is probably the best time for it to occur

Does anyone think that injuries to Bucks and Rusling might help Macaffer get elevated off the rookie list.

All summer I've presumed it would definitely be Danny Nicholls coming up for Dawes. When Rus went down it opened the door for one of Wellingham and Macaffer. Wellingham seems to have played better showing pace and skill on a wing but we might have the need for a forward now.

Nah, Bucks won't be out long enough, it's still two weeks til round 1, so he'll probably be back round 4 I'd say. Macaffer isn't going to have an impact that quickly, I wouldn't think. IMHO Wellingham is the only one of the rookies who has made his mark on a game, to this point. Clarke will be doing great things later in the year for Williamstown though. :thumbsu:

prehaps im too optimistic, and while this is bad news for buckley and the pies, the way i see it is that it just allows someone else to step up and an opportunity to look towards another figurehead to lead the team cause as we all know buckley wont be around forever and its time we start adjusting to this idea (unfortunately :( ). But im not overly concerned I'm sure he will be back, they have managed him well for the last year or so.

Hope he has a speedy recovery. Hate to see the Champs bow down to injury. Hope he can turn it around and finish the year off strong!

He's 35 these things happen , a bit under 2 weeks until the season starts , he'll only miss a couple.
Buckley and Didak might both appear around round 3 or 4 , which should give the team a boost.
