Buddy will be 130kg by 2020
It will be HILARIOUS to see see a pig pudge ball, 35 year old, stretchign his red and white swans guernsey, white is not a flattering colour buddy, sitting in the goal square kicking 20 goals a year, huffing and puffing to a Sydney wooden sppon.

Ahhh that will be rgeat to watch.
Sounds like Locketts comeback

But we're comparing Cottesloe to Bondi.

Apparently Franklin has to live in Bondi.
Likewise AFL players shouldn't have to live in pleb Perth suburbs and need to the money to buy a house west of the river.
What about Geelong, they all live along the bellarine coast in beachfront property too. Wheres their COLA?

Why the hell does Sydney even need Buddy? I know there forward line struggled big time in the finals, but they had half their forwards out. Seems a bit... well I don't know, too many forwards spoiling the broth. Almost GWS-esque.

Just look at what Doggies and Demons can afford, and maybe if you look at it without red and white glasses on, you'll see a major problem with what teams that are suppose to be in an equal competition. It is further from an even competition than it has EVER been in the whole history of the VFL/AFL competition.

Doggies for example haven't been able to draw a decent key forward for years. They finally got one, and it is party time for them at the moment, but the name is Stuart Crameri not fricken Tippett one year, and Buddy the next Ridiculous. It angers me so much, my respect for anyone that can't see a problem with this even Swan supporters is zero.
This would be the Demons that signed Mitch Clark and then backed that up signing Dawes?

And the Bulldogs that managed to acquire Hall in the middle of their premiership window?

They have the same cap as all the other Victorian teams.

I'm all for EVERY player in Sydney get the same percentage rise in their pay for cost of living. But quite obviously that is not the way Sydney are using their cap advantage. They are giving 95% of their players equivalent than if they were playing in Melbourne, and then trading in players and putting them on big dollars. I feel stupid stating this, as it should be absolutely obvious. It is embarrassing that it isn't obvious to some, especially the people controlling the AFL.

I decided to take your advice and took the effort to find out some things.

Oh, wise one, what do you say about this:
http://www.afl.com.au/news/2013-06-28/afl-may-control-purse-strings

The AFL currently DO NOT have much to do with controlling the COLA, apart from letting Sydney have more money than other clubs. They are supposed to pay each player an extra 9.8%, but effectively what they do is only apply this properly to the minimum contracts. Sydney can then use most of the COLA however they see fit.

They might have something on the books with each player getting 9.8% loadings. But this is essentially meaningless, as the Swans can just set their contracts to 9.8% less than what they want to ultimately pay them. There is absolutely zero doubt that the COLA is being abused to help Sydney snare Franklin and Tippett.

But if it makes you feel superior to the rest of us BF dickheads, keep on pontificating with your mindless dribble.
The Swans player contracts stipulate that the 9.8% will be paid on top of the negotiated contract.

Is that only a WA v NSW comparison?

Toorak is $2.2 million.

Ben McEvoy used to live in Mt. Eliza, recently bought a house in Portsea. Median $2.5 million.

Robinson stating on AFL360 that the COLA is about to be scrapped.
And that the Swans were fully aware of that when they made the offer.
I think that is something all of us can look forward to, so the competition is fair and Sydney supporters can stop having to deal with it being an asterisk against their performance.

Yeah I know right? Literally NO IDEA!

Apart from....
-Played more finals then any other team since 96
Played a very small number of prelims for finals appearances though.

-Been the best trading team of the last 10 years
Keep grabbing players offered contracts by their own club by offering more lucrative deals. How do they afford it?

-Had the best player development.
Geelong?

-Made 3 gfs and won 2 flags in 8 seasons
Or another way of looking at it, won 2 flags in 70 seasons.

-Just made it to a prelim with 9 premiership players out injured
Just made a prelim having beaten only 9th. Thrashed in prelim.

-Players actually want to play for Sydney
Why wouldn't they? They get a 10% bonus over playing almost anywhere else! Especially the ones that don't mind living out of the most expensive exclusive inner suburbs.

Oh, wait, must be cola, my bad.
Mostly cola, some pepsi.

Wow, it actually is a 9yr deal a confirmed by Andrew Ireland on AFL360 right now.

That's insane.

Insanely good for Buddy, insanely genius or crazy by Swans depending on which way you look at it.

Seriously, the COLA and ridiculous concessions granted to GC & GWS, expose some real issues in the AFL's neglect of its heartland in the footballing states.

AD is ultimately responsible for this mess and the vast sums of money that will need to be pumped in Sydney and QLD over the next decade to keep the ship afloat, will be to the detriment of the football states.

It is just so patently clear that at least one of the Saints, North, Melbourne or Bullies will not be here in the future as it will take 20 years plus for the financial drain of GC, GWS and Sydney to abate.

And for those that harp on about TV rights and the the game being in its greatest growth period, you need to check the AFL's bottom line as margin is ultimately the deteminant of the success of a business. Growth for growths sake has brought down many long established business models.

God forbid that a large chunk of WC, Adelaide, Hawks, Essendon,Collingwood, Richmond or Freo suffer a prolonged period near the bottom of the ladder, because Sydneys COLA will dry up quicker than a hooker at AD's Melbourne flat.

Listening to Open Mike last night, the fat controller just oozed smarminess, insincerity and honesty adversion to an extent that I actually had a moment where I thought (albeit briefly) that I had been overly harsh when passing judgement on Julia on election day.

Please AD, if that job offer is going with tennis Oz - just take it and F### O##.

With some luck Serena Williams can mistake you for a tennis ball and have another attempt on the worlds fastest womens serve.
