Am I the only one sick of sports fans around the world always calling their favourite sport corrupt/conspiracy/rigged etc, when a leagues decision goes against popular opinion?

You can just stop watching if you think nothing matters and the players are just following Gillon's 2000 page script of the season.

That's utter crap. Not arguing the penalties that hawthorn got but Buddies hit had the potential to break a jaw or cause concussion yet that was totally ignored. Buddy deliberately took a step forward to lunge at him rather than try to avoid the collision. Watch it again. Don't give me that crap that they were far worse than Buddies.
You don't think choking someone on the ground or turning around and elbowing someone in the face at a dead ball are worse than a high bump? Okay.

Good for us but I philosophically have a real problem with the discount for an early guilty plea. Who gives a **** whether you admit it or not? There's video evidence from multiple angles and if it shows an offence then you should go for whatever the prescribed number of weeks are, in this case 2.

Free ride? Recently Lake, Lewis and Hodge got their fair whack and deservedly so. But the Buddy decision now in the red and white just stinks.
Think he's still bitter about hodge vs murphy. Which I can understand.

Mods please change thread title to "how many WEEK' (singular)
how about 'how weak(week)?'

Seriously the worst shift the MRP has ever put in.

Buddy deliberately ran past the ball and shirt-fronted a guy making shoulder-face contact at full tilt. You know, the act that is now supposed to be extinct from the game, but you can rent a DVD and watch incidents from the 90s and earlier if it floats your boat. The guy is stunned and falls without protecting himself, extremely dangerous.

1 week. Seriously. Shirt-fronting the opposite teams best player with maximum force just became a viable tactic again. Well done MRP.

And why on earth would Gordon get off when Tippet went?!

I never said that. Bloody hell. I'm saying that Buddy's bump was intentional with potential to cause injury which was completely ignored. Should be at least 2 (and not 2 to 1). Much like Lewis.

NO....It should be 4 down to 3 for a blatant shoulder charge, at full impact, directly to the head.

Because there's nothing at all inconsistent between how Sydney players get treated, and the rest of them.

You enjoy advantages because of where your team is based. Enjoy it, but don't put up these facile arguments to the contrary.

You believe that Buddy intentionally went for Edwards' head? Because that's how you'd get the intentional grading and the higher weeks.

I wasn't specifically talking Sydney mate. It happens in every sport and the attitude is laughable.

Take a good look. He goes past the ball looks ahead and sees Edwards coming and has taken a deliberate step forward, lowered himself and made impact. He could have perhaps stepped to the side or better still chased the ball. But chose to go the man.

Sorry, I missed your answer, do you think he intentionally hit his opponent in the head?

No. He didn't necessarily set out to deliberately hit the head, but he did, like many other bumps where it is a fine line between hitting or missing. It's the end result and the fact that he chose to go the man rather than the ball.

Really? I disagree, I don't think he was aiming for the head at all. I think it would be very rare for a player to actually do so. At what point in the milliseconds between the fumbled mark and contact do you think he made that choice?

Okay, so he didn't aim for the head, therefore intentional was out. With carryover points wiped and the new system, two weeks was what it was going to get.

oh come on, what are you, the Buddy-whisperer? How can you pretend to know exactly which body part he was(n't) aiming for?

The guy chose to shirt-front another guy. And he got him flush in the face. That's it. 4 down to 3.

How is that impact in the same stratosphere as Yeo? Yeo's was less forcible than Firrito's, the system is a joke.

Not mad at Buddy, doesn't affect me and I like watching him play, thought he'd get 3 down to 2 but the MRP are a joke. The media should take note.
