Seriously though, how did Gordon get off a full on elbow to Jack's head? Lucky enough not to flush him but in terms of actual dirty shit, that's the stuff that should be getting suspensions.
Agree with this. I thought Buddy would get 2, Tippett 1-2, and Gordon at least 2.

Intentionally choosing to not gather the ball, go the player and hit them clean in the head is not "part of footy".

If he tried to pick up the ball and made contact with the head it wouldn't be as bad.

I thought it was a 3 week down to 2 incident. In that sense I think he's a tad lucky.

He didn't choose to hit him in the head. He chose to bump him down the middle. I'm still one that thinks incidental contact is ok. Nothing malicious in that at all.

Gordon on the other hand elbowed Jack in the head and didn't get a week.

I thought it was one at worst.

Glancing blow, barely made contact.

Watching it at the time I thought, that's part of footy. Didn't gather the ball so put some body on the bloke right in his path. No worries. I would have screamed blue murder had he gotten weeks doing the same thing playing for us.

However, he would have gotten weeks if he did play for us.

But if the system has changed since he played for you then it's just farcical to make the comparison. The whole AFL love child thing doesn't work either when Gordon gets nothing for his hit........Just to clarify I believe it was worth nothing. The MRP for the majority has brought the penalties down this year and even prior to these results I was thinking we were better for it.

You quoted a post that completely agreed with everything you said. Did you actually read it?
I was referring to the last part of his post :$:$

I hope you're not the spokesperson for anyone else on BigFooty...

The severity of the blow is irrelevant. He elbowed him in the end. That's dirty shit and apparently the 'potential to cause injury' is such a thing, even though it only ever gets trotted out against unsociable clubs apparently.

I'd rather blokes get rubbed out for dirty elbows than bumps that accidentally go too high.

Lance Franklin, Sydney Swans,
has been charged with charged with engaging in rough conduct against Shane Edwards, Richmond, during the second quarter of the Round 13 match between the Sydney Swans and Richmond, played at the SCG on Friday June 26, 2015.

In summary, he can accept a one-match sanction with an early plea.

Based on the video evidence available and a medical report from the Richmond Football Club, it was the view of the panel the incident should be classified as careless conduct with medium impact to the head. This offence was classified as a two-match sanction. The player has no applicable bad record. An early plea can reduce the penalty to a one-match sanction.

I love the "no applicable bad record"

I'm advocating that I don't think he should get done for it, but would have for us. I also think if Tippett's name was Lewis he may have gotten an extra week.

However, I agree about Gordon and have made that point. Was the worst of the lot by a long way.

Buddy - 1- Baffling decision
Tippett - 1 - Baffling decision
Gordon - 0 - Baffling decision

Once again the MRP is the laughing stock of the Australian sporting community. Just ridiculous.
