Oh FFS, I wish people would leave Natanui alone to just get on with his development. Admittedly its not helped by West Coast supporters making outrageous claims but he has shown he could, again, could be something special.

winky i agree with you let him get on with his development because he hasnt developed yet!!!! thats why he isnt anywhere near buddy and thats why this poll should be 100 to 0 maybe in two seasons time re-post this poll and see, not saying buddy will still be a mile in front of him it could be close in my eyes doubtful.

Comparing players at different stages of their career, especially a second year player (before round 1) is plain silly.
The author however can see huge potential in Naitanui based on his Nab game.

The reason WCE supporters are going crazy is because anyone at the game against Essendon would have witnessed Naitanui dominate the game in such a comprehensive manner. No-one including Woosha was aware this could happen so early in Naitanui's career, it was a pleasant surprise to say the least.

Proof of his dominance can be provided by Knight's comments after the game.

However, the highest praise came from Essendon coach Mathew Knights, who described Naitanui’s game as “unbelievable”.

“It demonstrates what a wonderful player he’s going to be in this league,” Knights said.

“He is the most awesome young talent running around in the game at the present time. The talent, the recovery, the speed and the willingness to keep jumping all night - he really had a special game.”

The Friday night match has thrust Naitanui into the spotlight and ensured he is a hot talking point this pre-season, but it has also given Worsfold and his coaching group plenty to think about ahead of round one.

“He surprised us all with how well he went,” Worsfold said. “Prior to Friday night we were just going to use him in bits and pieces, (but) we’ve changed that.

“He’s had a really good pre-season this year, so straight away he’s miles ahead (of last season). He’s fitter, he’s grown (and) he’s stronger than he was last year. That means he’s more equipped to cope with AFL footy.

“It’s opened up a lot of different challenges for us as a match committee.”

My personal take on his potential, Naitanui will be as big in the game as Wayne Carey was in fact he may well be bigger! The kid is 19, wait until he turns 23!!!

Is it just me or are the hawks supporters a really special bunch of people. This thread is even worse than the crap about Rioli being top of his drat class.

How can you say that the hawks have good forwards when your about to trade your best one in for a bloke who has played one good NAB cup game

Buddy. No questions

very special indeed mckenzie! totally agree, i'd take buddy's belly button lint over nicnat!

delicious!:D

NicNat easily. Non discussion. Hes better below his knees. They are even above their heads in a marking situation. Hes more athletic. Both are shit kicks. Nicnats a better handpasser, tackler and better in traffic. NicNat gets his own ball and more of it. Quite clearly NicNat is the one you'd want from here onwards. In fact Buddy is the most overrated footballer going around.

Black people are good at sports n' shit, and Naitanui is blacker than Franklin..

So Nicholas for mine.

West Coasts version of Waterhouse...sounds about right.

However the west coast version of anything is always a hell of a lot better than the Freo version. Our version of success = 3 premierships. Freo's = playing in a total of 4 finals. Our version of recruiting = picking up guns in the draft like NicNat, Judd, Masten, Kerr, Cox, Glass. Freos version = Clive, McPharlin and Croad for pick 1, McPhee, Tarrant, Soloman, Headland etc.

So if NicNat follows the trend of West Coast generally bettering Freo in every department by an extremely large rate then he will be a superstar.
