Paul Licuria

I think Paul had a very good game last night. Had a few clangers again, but not as many as the previos weeks. He was much improved.

I think he looked a lot better in and around the packs last night, and I dont think speed had anything to do with the way he played last night. I didnt think it was a factor.

I have given him a rating of 7/10 this week. But of course he is still working up to that 10/10!! He will get there.

Stats:

26 disposals

7 marks

4 tackles

2 frees for

1 free against

Good job Paul!!

I am not attacking the poster but the post here.

Licca was shocking and to see him running around pumping his fist after the game when he did more to lose the game than any other pie was laughable.

I have watched the game again on foxtel today and he appeared worse on that than he did last night sitting up in the $1200 seats in front of the social club.

We simply will never win anything with this bloke. I know he won two copelands but to be quite honest daylight robbery bucks should have won both.

I want him out. Out out Out ....

He hasn't been great, and I have been one of the blokes questioning him. But I don't want him crucified. You can't question his will and committment. But he is struggling.

Buddy Report - Heath Shaw
Rnd 3 vs Richmond

heater07sf4.png

Not his usual standards, however Shaw was still very good and was a solid contributor. Terry Wallace put a tag on Heath Shaw from the first bounce and despite Malthouse doing his best to keep Shaw in the game, the numerous opponents Shaw had held tight and did the job.

Had 18 touches, and he had a very good 3rd quarter, breaking a tag to take a very good mark, and also set up a goal to Leon Davis with a fantastic dash off half-back running through the guts.

Rating: 6.5 out of 10 (Tot: 20)

Bitter old man, support the team, don't always look for the negatives...Lica ran his guts out last night! and obviously it paid off...I thought he was good, well, certainly not worth this garbage that your keyboard came up with.

GUY RICHARDS

Thought he do OK again on Friday. Didn't spend a lot of time on the ground but did OK in the ruck ableit against an unfit Simmonds and Pattison.

We have to remember that he is our back-up ruckman. Josh is our No.1 and I thought he did quite well in the ruck in the 2nd half.

7 disposals- 5 kicks, 2 handballs
5 marks
9 hitouts
1 tackle
2 frees for
1 free against

1 fantastic hitout that went straight down Scotty Burns' throat, who then pumped it to Medders for a goal. Pretty to watch.

Also had 1 clanger where he was in the clear and kicked it about 50m high and 30m long straight to a Richmond player for an uncontested mark.

We just need him to be good at the stoppages when Josh needs a blow. He is in the team for rucking, not in the team for his around the ground work much like Matty Clarke was to Adelaide.

What game were you watching?? He was one of our most important players on Friday nite. He may not be the quicket anymore, but he is still very valuable and he showed that on Friday.

I think that a lot of people are just hoping he will go quietly now so that when he shows all of you assholes up at seasons end, you wont feel so bad!!

Get over it. He is here to stay until told otherwise by MM. He did it last year, and if it comes down to it, he will be dropped again.

By the way, thank you to the guys who were backing me up in here in reagrds to my post!! Cheers!! Much appreciated!!

Richards gets me angry because he actually has good skills and moves well. If only he had confidence in his ability.

he probably lacks confidence because his frail body has betrayed him in resent times. my guess is the more consecitive games he plays the better he will become.regardless of the shieks from the peanut gallery.

Dane Swan

Here is a guy who at this stage of his career is making every post a winner.
On Friday he was back to season 06 form with a 35 possesion game, (25 uncontested. 19 kicks of which 14 were effective, 16 handballs, 11 marks, 4 tackles) his work rate is enourmous and his ticker is phar lap like.
His goal on the run got the crowd into the game.

an 8 out of 10 game from The Swandeful one.

Personally i though Scott Burns had an incredible game on Friday night and hasn't got nearly the accolades he deseves

They were watching the same game as me and i'd say many more maggies supporters. Lica wouldn't have been in the top 15 on Friday. To say he was one of our most important players against the tiges is laughable.

Lica has been a warrior for the pies, there's not much run left in those legs and the game has almost passed him by. I hope that he can still play a role in the side, I would argue he, along with Scott Burns has been the heart and sole of the team.

Rocca played well and was close to best on ground for Collingwood. He kicked 3 goals, set a few up and provided a strong target in the forward line. However up until half time Rocca was playing fairly crap and not doing much (as was the rest of the team). But after halftime Rocca played great and tore the tigers backline apart, all of his goals were in the second half. I am still waiting for collingwood and rocca to play a full 4 quarters and if Rocca can perform like he did in the second half for 4 quarters he and Collingwood will go along way this year.

I will give him 8/10 (again)

Just because you dont think he was in our top 15 players on Friday, doesnt mean he wasnt. He was important. He got in and under and made some very good hard tackles. Making tackles is important. Hence the important comment!!

Okay, your biased to Licuria.
We get the flipping point alright... Other people can have their opinions on he's performance too without you countering it all.

And majority rules and definitely speaks loudly then one persons opinion (however biased), licca was once under below average and showed that football has quickly passed him by.

Just because you think he was in our top 15, doesn't mean he was either.
He's disposal by foot is woeful for an AFL player, and there'd be very few teams he'd even get a run with these days.

Lucky MM holds him so close to he's breast after they cried together isn't it

Presti was beaten by Richo on Friday night but luckily Rich is mental and kept us in the game. Funniest thing I’ve seen in a long time was when he took the kick for Scultz and fluffed it. Anyone but Richo surely…..

Anyway, Presti had a better second half after being outplayed in the first. That’s his “bad” one for the year.

Great summary MarkT, Presti was good in the second half and played a vital hand in several key defensive efforts that led to turnovers and goals at the other end of the park. Fraser should take a leaf out of Presti's book in regards to the importance of keeping your feet at the contest.

Best game of the year form Harry. Bit slow at the start but got more involved in the 2nd half. Played on the wing and snapped up 13 disposals for his effort. Maintained Schultz in 2nd half too. This game proved he is in our best 22.

Sharrod Wellingham is coming along nicely and got plenty of the pill vs port, would not surprise me if he plays for pies by seasons end! Reads the play well and reminded me of rhyce + leon..:)

That was my buddy report. Like or lump it. I'm entitled to speak up about the man. He deserves some respect, and thats something he is not getting.
Whether you like him or you dont, he is on the team and will be until decided he is not required. Get over the Licca bashing and show some positive attitudes towards the man. He deserves it.
