Not to mention there would be mass offended about the COLA, 10x more than there is already.

The reaction would swamp what happened with Tippett ... to a lot of Victorian fans, the Tippett thing was a good laugh at Adelaide's expense ... if Franklin came to us, we'd cop a tidal wave of pro-Victorian, anti-COLA (or whatever) effluent ... anyway, won''t happen, if he goes anywhere it'll be Freo.

I heard a few rumours on this site that he isn't a very good person. I also heard a few years ago he had a bet with his teammate about having sex with 100 different women in a year and if that rumour is true it does not say much for his character.

He is a free agent so if he wants to move to Sydney because he loves it there apparently and wants to get out of the spot light I no who I would be picking out of GWS and Swans
 
No way the AFL would give us the Ambassadorship cash needed to get him to leave Hawthorn (who are offering a million a season for five years), Hawthorn could also probably match any offer we make during free agency, forcing us to trade.

Scary how many old timers we've got ...

Goodesy will be 34 in January - retirement a distinct possibility
LRT turns 30 soon. Probably keep going if the injury's okay.
Teddy is 31 in January. Reckon he'll play on.
ROK 33 in January. He could go.
Bolts is 34 in March. Only Fletcher plays beyond that age.
Shaw 32 in October. With his injury plagued season, wouldn't be surprised if he walked, too.

Certainly a bit of room in the salary cap next year. But I'd rather we invested in two or three decent defenders, than a Buddy type.

I suppose you could throw Sam Reid to chb and you have Johnson coming back whowas going to start playing on the bigger players this year.

We will have room in our cap yes, but most of that room will have been used to resign the players currently on our list. We'll only be looking at upgrading rookie list players, trading in lower rated players from other clubs and draft picks. We won't be active in free agency nor making a major splash trading, just minor deals as suggested above.

As for the players above we'll see them retire over a 3 to 4 season period. So the club can't predict how our salary cap space will open up after each season to such an extent that we'll go after Buddy.

So as I stated, Russell Barwick isn't classed as "good mail" on any matters AFL
 
From an emotional standpoint ( as in I want to see bigfooty and slightly more so hawthorn supporters become violently emotional) I want buddy. But from a practical and sensible standpoint I'd prefer to use salary cap on a frawley, or a talia or even a pears.

What would be better would be spend say 800 on j.riewoldt and nab one of the above mentioned players . Probably would only need to add 300 k on top of what would be offered to buddy.

However this is all extremely wishful thinking
