Not sure of the name of the Adelaide player but i'll open the bidding at 6 weeks, one of the worst things i've seen on a football field, i'll leave it up to other posters to call it a dog act.

Could have killed him. Buddy thought he was Triple H there for a minute.
A quick thought but accept there is a fair bit of grey here;
Reckless (2), High? (3), Head (2) = 7 Activation Points - Level 4 - 425 Points excluding loadings.
It's definitely a tough one, but personally I don't see how it could be classed as reckless. That is not at all a reflexive motion when you're falling forwards. I'm pretty sure he knew what he was doing. Intentional every day of the week imo, but we'll see what happens.Assuming it's Reckless, then that's 5 activation points and a grade 2 offence. For a Rough Conduct charge, that's 225 points. This isn't Franklin's first offence, so he probably has some "bad record" loading factor to be applied as well. Even if he's got the maximum 50% loading, he's still only looking at 330-odd points, less 25% for pleading guilty. That means he's probably looking at a 2-week vacation for almost killing another player.
No logical thinking Hawthorn supporter could defend or condone anything in that incident by Buddy. If it'd had been an opposition player who'd done that to one of our guys I would be foaming at the mouth over it.
I don't think Buddy is a 'dirty' player by nature but he's clearly very frustrated with his form at the moment and appears to have had a huge brain fade. One that could've been potentially very costly to himself and Otten. Should get weeks for this. Needs to learn a lesson.
Even if it's intentional, it's still only 6 activation points and a level 3 offence - 325pts plus loading (less guilty plea). I still think it needs to be referred directly to the Tribunal.It's definitely a tough one, but personally I don't see how it could be classed as reckless. Glad Otten got out unscathed as it definitely had the potential to be very, very bad.
Yeah, that's certainly not enough for me. Tribunal probably the best option. Like was previously mentioned in this thread, I don't think Buddy's a dirty player but it's the kind of brain fade that really needs to be used to set a big precedent. Nobody wants to see those kinds of incidents in the AFL.Even if it's intentional, it's still only 6 activation points and a level 3 offence - 325pts plus loading (less guilty plea).
