Kevin Everett walking again....

Lifted this from nfl.com, has come a long way considering he was fighting for his life in the initial stages.

Interesting side note, the guy that did it to him Broncos WR/KR Domenik Hixon was cut midway through the season. While his ex-teammates will be kicking their heels downing beers, he'll be returning kicks for the Giants in the SB. Not Bad.

I won lottery!!

and I am sending you all to Dallas to watch the Cowboys!!

ok - I'm joking... about the Cowboys bit but I did win the lottery.

You are one lucky sports fan! You have been selected through the random draw to be among the first fans to purchase tickets for the Bills Toronto Series to be held at Rogers Centre. There are more applicants than seats available, and we've already seen a huge demand, so please purchase early to avoid disappointment.

As you know, the schedule for 2008 is terrific: The Pittsburgh Steelers come to town on Thursday, August 14 for pre-season action, and then in a classic AFC East rivalry, the Miami Dolphins take the field against the Bills on Sunday, December 7.

Nice ;) Now I've got to come to terms with the cost... I 'think' it starts at $180 per game... and I think the minimum purchase I can make is for the first 3 games, which includes a 2009 game when I prob won't be here.

Might be cheaper to just travel to Buffalo and watch ;) seriously

Re: I won lottery!!

Well done Dan. $180 a game sounds steep but I guess it depends where the seat is located.

You could probably sell the ticket for the 3rd game if you're not going to be there too (get to know the people sitting next to you in the first two and off it to them - cost++ of course).

How's it going over there BTW?

Re: I won lottery!!

They send that out to everyone imo. A lottery = win something for free. This sounds like a drive to drum up early sales.

I don't think so... they had 180,000 registered for the tickets... the stadium seats 54,000... and the vast majority are allocated to CFL season ticket holders and other stuff.

Each person is also allocated the right to buy 8 tickets... the con is the price is so steep so I think I got the second offering and you have to buy either the 3 game package or entire 5 year deal (8 game package)

It is a battle. Job hunting has been tough, they say they are crying out for skilled workers (ie. accountants, doctors, etc)... yet when they come here they don't recognize your experience and qualifications... very tough.

Got a temp job though so bringing some cash in. Playing a bit of aussie rules football here and showing them how its done, haha.

... It is very much like Melbourne here... just has that same kind of feel to it, they love their blue jays (MLB) and raptors (NBA)... plus that hockey stuff. good times.

just aiming to save some money now so I can get across to the states at least in august/sept.

Great to hear from you again Danielz!

Give 'em a ol' fashioned SHIRTFRONT... from me. :)

Good Luck with everything else you seek.

Bills RB Lynch arrested in California

Bills RB Lynch arrested in California

Buffalo Bills running back Marshawn Lynch is in trouble with the law again.

Lynch, who played in the Pro Bowl one week ago, was arrested Wednesday in Culver City, Calif., on felony charges for possession of a concealed firearm.

The Culver City Police Department on Sunday afternoon released a brief statement with details of the arrest. The statement noted officers spotted three men in a 2006 Mercedes Benz and recognized Lynch as the Bills' running back.

"A subsequent field investigation led to the discovery of a loaded firearm," the report said. "The officers determined the gun belonged to Lynch and he was arrested for possession of a concealed firearm."

Lynch's lawyer, M. Gerald Schwartzbach, said his client was not involved in a traffic incident. Schwartzbach said the player was in California to visit friends.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff Department's inmate database says Lynch was booked at 7:12 p.m. and was released on a $35,000 bond at 8:45 p.m.
"We are aware of it and will monitor it," NFL spokesman Greg Aiello wrote in an e-mail to ESPN.com.

Gun safety is a significant issue in the NFL. It has been a hot topic since New York Giants receiver Plaxico Burress was arrested on two felony charges in December after accidentally shooting himself at a Manhattan nightclub.

"We can confirm that Marshawn was arrested in California and has retained an attorney," Bills vice president of communications Scott Berchtold said in a statement. "We are in the process of trying to gather the facts and will not offer a comment while that process is ongoing."

Lynch's agent didn't return ESPN.com's request for a comment.

Lynch last summer was the subject of a hit-and-run investigation in Buffalo after his luxury SUV struck a woman in the street and sped away.

After nearly a month of posturing from Lynch's lawyers and the Erie County District Attorney, Lynch paid a $100 fine in a plea agreement. He didn't face criminal charges because the woman's injuries weren't serious enough. She sustained a bruised hip and cut to her thigh that required seven stitches at a local hospital.

In 2006, as Lynch was about to enter his junior season at California, he was the target of a drive-by shooting outside his prep alma mater, Oakland Technical. Police determined Lynch was the victim of mistaken identity.

Lynch, who will turn 23 in April, ran for 1,038 yards and eight touchdowns last season. He also caught 47 passes for 300 yards and a touchdown.

Police determined Lynch was the victim of mistaken identity.

That's become his standard defence.

This is the bit I find interesting though :

The statement noted officers spotted three men in a 2006 Mercedes Benz and recognized Lynch as the Bills' running back.

Not sure if recognising someone is an NFL player would pass for 'probable cause'

Strange comment for coppers to make and even stranger they'd repeat it (unless of course there's other details we don't know about)

Re: Bills RB Lynch arrested in California

What the Hell is going on?? Mustangs rostered player arrested with a loaded gun?? Mustangs GM, Larry David, lives in Santa Barbara.. you do the math.

Yeah, that's what I thought when I read it, strange. So supposedly now, if you are recognised as a NFL player you could be carrying a gun without a permit so we can look. Might be just the way the article has been written.

T.O signs with the Bills. Quite a disapointment really. Was looking forward to him joining the Colts, Pats or someone in that mould. I'm not sure it is a good move to give Trent Edwards the responsibility of having TO:eek:

Bills agreed to terms with Terrell Owens on a one-year, $6.5 million contract.
That was fast. While the move is completely against Buffalo's character, it makes sense for them. They are desperate for receiver firepower across from Lee Evans to help Trent Edwards out. The rest of the AFC East isn't getting easier and Dick Jauron is in a playoff-or-bust year. The move may blow up in their face, but we love that it's a one-year deal. Owens will have to perform and behave to keep his career going. While this helps Evans and Edwards, Owens is joining the least explosive offense of his career. Expect his numbers to suffer accordingly.

Re: Bills sign T.O. to 1 year deal

Was pretty surprised when I heard this, Buffalo is one of the last places I thought he would end up.

If he's got his s**t together and comes to play then it's a good move. I rate Lee Evans but he's not really your prototypical number 1 WR so this move should benefit him greatly.

It'll be rather strange seeing TO in a Bills uni for the first time
