Teams Buffalo Bills - The Stampede

Some early notes about Tennessee from watching Titans @ Falcons:
-Titans had 3 fumbles (1 by Mariota), all of which were not turned over (1 out-of-bounds, 2 recovered)
-they took their chances - 24 points in a half is great, and more than enough to take care of the Falcons
-Mariota threw the ball away when under pressure - no sacks yesterday (which is much improved on the 17 he took in the first 3 weeks). This will be key next week.
-On the other hand, the defence has 13 sacks (5 yesterday). This is also a problem.
-Mariota has not thrown an INT this season.
-Solid ST: very good punting (average 45 yards, and 5/5 end inside 20), perfect kicking, no fumbles/muffs
-Good bend-not-break defence in Q4. Two Falcons drives end on downs inside Titans territory.

Some similarities:
-no interceptions, no lost fumbles (only 1 in total)
-several sacks (4), and achieved stops in their territory 3 times in the first half
-solid punting, recovered muff.

Overall solid no-turnover Offence, solid D and good punting.

But some interesting differences.
-didn't take their chances
-particularly different with the kicking
-Mariota didn't really throw the ball away, and we managed 5 sacks
-able to achieve 3-and-outs in the second half (and an INT), but on key drives, gave up a TD and a long drive to end the game. Unable to stop the Bills once in Titans territory.

What were your thoughts about Allen's game? Seemed weird after such a heavy knock last week he made it through concussion protocol so swiftly.

Yup, I wouldn't have been surprised if they kept him out a week leading into the bye, as they've done with Singletary. Really positive he moved through the protocol quickly and looked sharp out there. One really poor interception (hero-ball issue again) and a big hit when going for a run but otherwise was clean - passed well, threw away as required, slid for yards etc., against a decent Titans D.

With the outs we had on offense (prior to the game missing Nsekhe, Singletary, Kroft, Foster; and in game losing Morse and Ford) I was impressed with the game management. Obviously Gore being Gore was very helpful, but Allen ultimately had the game-winning first down run.

Another game where we are behind/tied in the second half and pull out the win, and just makes you wonder what would've happened had Allen played out the game against NE.

Anyway, generally a good game in a decent season (QBR lies!), 4/5 games over 200yds, and would've done so against NE if he played it out. Best completion % of the year. Now 16 starts into his career, exciting times ahead!

Next 3 games all at home against ...

Dolphins
Eagles
Redskins

All very very very gettable games.

Wouldn’t take too much out of the Eagles game other than Vikings are really good at home.
But yes all winnable, and must at win 2.

A bit of chaos around the league doesn’t hurt either. Broncos, Texans winning is pretty good!

Here's hoping all our injured guys - Morse, Singletary, Foster, Milano, Ford and Nsekhe - can all get back by the Miami game or, at worst, against Philly.

We could be 6-2 or even 7-1 at the half way mark with a full strength roster.

Agreed but hope we wouldn't be looking too far ahead. Win this week, get to 5-1. Pats could slip at any point so need to just keep banking wins.

All's well that ends well.

Very poor O for the first half.
But Allen only 1 incompletion (and should’ve hit Brown) in second half, Gore and Singletary looking very complementary, and Brown continuing to look a decent WR1 is very heartening.

D was strong for the most part even against some quality from Fitzmagic. Tre amazing again.

Onside return should help our ST rankings - was a beautiful play by Hyde.

Another win against the AFC.
Now 4-1, and 2-1 in division.

And the Eagles struggled so that gives me hope for next week.
Go Jets!
