Bills signed coach Sean McDermott to a four-year extension through 2025.
McDermott was given a five-year deal when he was hired ahead of the 2017 season, so he was signed through at least 2021. This new six-year deal was well deserved. McDermott is truly one of the game's better coaches and has turned the Bills into a legit contender. He's guided Buffalo to the playoffs two of his three seasons at the helm, and the Bills are viewed as the favorites in the AFC East this season. 46-year-old McDermott has a 25-23 record across three seasons. Next up will be getting a playoff win after going 0-2 to this point.

Bills signed LT Dion Dawkins to a four-year, $60 million extension through 2024.
The No. 63 overall pick of the 2017 draft, Dawkins will make under $1 million in the final year of his rookie contract, but he's now set for life as he heads into season three of manning Josh Allen's blindside. It's a tough job with a quarterback who freelances, but 26-year-old Dawkins has settled in as a legitimate left tackle, albeit one whose best campaign was his rookie season. Dawkins' durability is a plus, as he's never missed a game. This was an easy decision to make for the Bills.

Wow, sir...

The Athletic's Joe Buscaglia believes Bills coach Sean McDermott "could outlive" Josh Allen in Buffalo if the third-year pro "doesn’t show marked improvement in the next two seasons."
Buscaglia is just stating the obvious, but it is worth stating after McDermott received a four-year extension earlier this week. McDermott has made a recent habit of talking about how important the quarterback position is, a not-so-subtle hint that Allen needs to improve. Allen made modest progress last season but remained a sub-60 percent passer, failing to hit enough big plays to compensate for that lack of accuracy and efficiency. Allen's most recent start was an abject meltdown in the Bills' Wild Card loss. Allen is well above average as a rusher for a quarterback, but it is his arm that will make-or-break his critical 2020. Allen is a gamble at his QB6-7 ADP. It eventually catches up to quarterbacks who are better in fantasy than real life.

If Allen can make a decent jump this year that roster has superbowl written all over it. The defense in particular is ridiculous. Got even stronger in the offseason . Would be somewhat shocked its not ranked #1 by the end of the season

Lotulelei opting out but otherwise agreed. And we offset that by adding Epenesa and some extra depth.
Main issue will be if we lose Tre White or Matt Milano to injury.

Mario Addison is still a gun mate, superb against the run as well as rushing the passer, I'll miss him far more than the other panther players you have got currently . . Norman will play much better in press and McDermott knows that. McD doesn't need to justify a massive contract like Washington did and play him in zone too often. McD will yank him off the field on downs that don't suit the team. He'll have somewhat of a bounce back year .

AJ Klein is easily good enough to play a Milano role if need be too, filled in for Luke during one of his concussion layoffs, under McDermott and we didn't miss a beat. ...really good depth piece to have incase of injury to either Milano or Edmunds.

Secondary is great, one of the best safety duos in he league when fit are Hyde and Hoyer. White is a superstar.

You would expect Oliver to relish more playing time without Star being there, so perhaps it could even be for the best?

If Epenesa can have a decent rookie year and Addison continues to defy age I don't see any weaknesses on D.

Allen won't need to be spectacular or a MVP candidate for you guys to go deep, just needs to improve the completion % a touch and limit any turnovers.

Very much a niners of last year vibe I'm getting with this team.

: Makes push in kicking competition(RotoWire) Bass intensified the Bills' kicking competition with a strong performance in Thursday's practice, Mark Gaughan of The Buffalo News reports. Analysis: Bass is currently aiming to displace veteran Bills kicker Stephen Hauschka ahead of his first NFL season. Although the sixth-rounder started the week with a few misses, his powerful leg was on display Thursday, when he converted six of seven field-goal attempts, including a couple from over 50 yards. In contrast, the 35-year-old Hauschka missed all three of his tries from that range, adding intrigue as the two continue to battle throughout training camp.

Nice one!
I'm glad we brought in some competition - whether or not he takes the spot it's good for the team overall.

Meant to post this here , impressive leg. (Note: The header is wrong, 50 yarder made off no steps, 60 yarder made off one step)

Bills released K Stephen Hauschka.
Rookie sixth-rounder Tyler Bass has won the Bills' kicking competition. That was always going to happen as long as Bass did not face plant in camp. Hauschka's release clears $1.55 million in cap space while leaving behind $1.5 million in dead money. 35-year-old Hauschka was sub-80 percent on field goals each of the past two seasons. Buffalo is a tough place to kick, but that will eventually earn you your walking papers as an NFL kicker. Hauschka will still undoubtedly be one of the first players teams host for a workout when they need a kicker.

The Athletic's Joe Buscaglia believes the Bills' lead running back will depend on the opponent.
"When the Bills are facing a team with slower linebackers and an edge defender who doesn’t contain, (it could favor) Devin Singletary with runs to the outsides," Buscaglia reasoned. "If a defense has weaker defensive tackles who can be pushed off the line, Zack Moss is the better option between the tackles." Buscaglia also believes Moss will probably have the edge on goal-line carries, while third-down work will vary. Buscaglia considers Singletary's progress in pass protection and ball security to be an X-factor. It's important to remember that Moss has only one month of NFL practice and zero live reps under his belt, but he has knocked the socks off of the Bills press.

Andre Roberts cut which is surprising given return ability.

Roberts and Marlowe cut and resigned . Both players in the 53 man roster from the looks of things.

Cannot recall being this relaxed about an opening game.

Jets are decidedly weaker than they were 12 months ago and we have replaced Phillips and Lawson with Butler, Addison and Jefferson, whilst adding Diggs.

A win is an absolute must.
Don't be too relaxed. Anything can happen.

I'm confident though. I'd rather be in the Bills position, with do many returning starters on offense and defense, than the Jets who have a brand new offensive line and half a new defense.
