I'm flying over from Perth for this game, looking for some recommendations for the weekend!

First off, tickets. Who is best to get them through and where should I aim to get tickets? I've never been to a game at the Etihad, would like to get a decent spot. I'd imagine there would be plenty of tickets available, but do they close off certain sections for games with expected lower crowds?

As for the game day, are there things to see/do that people recommend either before or after the game? The only games I've been to since I've been a kid has been some games at Subi, I tend to ignore most of the stuff the Eagles & Dockers get up to :p

Cheers in advance :)

Get the long distance membership (5 games), you'll get free entry plus entry to the return West Coast game :)
Probably should have mentioned I'll be with my girlfriend as well (kind of a Saints fan :straining:), are there options to get another ticket to come along with?

Buy Medallion Club tickets from eBay. Best seats in house. Probably set you back about $30 each for that game.

Done it many, many times.

Bump...

Tickets on sale for this only seem to be quite limited, I highly doubt it would be near a sell out :p do more only get released in the 2 weeks before the game or do they pretty much close most of the levels up top?

I might be able to help as I do this trip every year and did it round 1 this year.

Yes more tickets will be released before the game, don't stress, will be plenty available. I'm not sure when they release for each game but keep checking so you can have your pick of the best available. I used my interstate membership to upgrade my seat to a level 1 seat near the pocket, cost me about $10-$15? I purchased another full price ticket on ticketmaster for my girlfriend also. I sat Level 1 near the boundary line which I didn't love as you couldn't see a lot if it wasn't in your area, level 2 medallion club would be better. I also got stuck at the wrong end with the Eagles fans so I moved at half time and sat in the pocket with the players wags and guys like Koby Stevens who weren't playing haha.

For hotel I stayed at Travelodge Southbank which is fine. Basic and clean but still nice enough and cheap, great location one street off Southbank and easy walk into the city.

Use the skybus service from the airport, it was great. Cost $19 each (I think) and takes you in the bus lane straight to their city busport, then you tell them which hotel you are at and they take you on a separate smaller bus with a few other people straight to your hotel. Saves a bit of money from using a cab. You can book them on the way home for the same thing and they pick you up from your hotel door.

Crown casino is obviously really good if you like that kind of thing and the Galactic Circus arcade + laser tag is a bit of fun across the road (can access via skybridge thing) not sure how old you are though, but my girlfriend and I enjoyed it.

Check out the Queen Victoria Markets on the edge of the city which were fantastic and huge, easy tram trip there depends on where you are staying. Melbourne is obviously great for shopping, all the main CBD streets have stuff to see.

What do you get with Medallion Club tickets?
Best seats in the house. Some with video screens/Foxtel. Great bars. In seat service. Restaurants. Some come with car parking if the owner of the seat(s) has one.

It's still too early for them - you need to wait until the week of the game, or the week prior.

Definitely worthwhile.

If none pop up - you've lost nothing and just buy as you would normally have.

Yep, Medallion Seats on Ebay are the way to go.
For an Interstate trip it's a special occasion so worth it and because it won't be a massive crowd there should be plenty available.
Doesn't matter what ground you are going to... 2nd level seating is always the best
