Review BULLDOGS WIN- The Bombers Anti-Streak lives on

Stringer, Gardner and Merrett get potted, but that little piece of sh1t Devon Smith doesn't even get cited! Does the MRP even watch the review replay, or just fast forward to the ones mentioned in passing on the commentary? Even before he gutlessly grabbed Young's head, he deserves:
- 1 week for a face/head like an over-ripe potato
- 1 week for over-appealing free kicks for deliberate OOB
- 1 week for having a small member
- 1 week for having a head smaller than his member

No, I'm not overly fond of Devon Smith.

Post Prelim bye is a huge win for us, if we do manage to win the next two the week off will be a godsend, whilst if it’s Melbourne - week off, prelim, week off, granny cannot be great preparation. No reason we cant win it from here, we’re as good as any and we seem to be coming out the other side of that slump. We love this backs against the wall s**t too, honestly we thrive on it. Put it this way - I think if you asked every side right now what team they want to play the least, I’m pretty confident majority would say us

Edit: but not getting ahead of myself, loooooong way to go of course

Just watching the replay now. The one against Draper they were so angry about Cody “ducking” - Cody didn’t even try and get a free. It was incidental and Cody didn’t even make anything of the contact, was just a poor umpiring decision. Not his fault that was paid - he didn’t ask for it.
Don't know that particular decision was a bad call. Can't clip a bloke going for the ball over the ear, admittedly it was a half assed tackle attempt. High contact over the shoulder is a free, that one was pretty soft but deserved to be paid for the stupidity if nothing else.

My wife had a temp job at The Age when at uni, would’ve been in the late nineties/early 2000s. They would sometimes send the youngsters to review the comedy gigs if they were stretched, presumably during the festival. My wife put in a lukewarm but not a terrible review - middle of the road, she remembers it as 3/5 or something like that - and when it ran he spent most of his radio show that day lambasting the reviewer, naming her on the radio multiple times.

So he’s not only unfunny, he’s an unfunny prick.

He was a Bulldogs supporter as a kid and dropped us to follow Carlton.

Very fitting that he has now endured two decades of extreme pain and agony following the worse team of the modern era.

Nah punish Essendon and force them to have to play that hack

This game was a vindication of the expected score talk from the last time we played them (and an even bigger testimonial to Alex keath).

Fair to say at this point, the matchup is such that we beat the bombers 9/10 times, with the 1 being due to some crazy goal kicking anomalies (shoutouts to jake Carlisle and Peter wright). I don’t think there’s any other team we’d choose to play if we had a choice. Feels good actually doing to a team what Geelong does to us:cool:

Amazing how much better we look with a 2 ruck, 3 forward line up, adds to the frustrations as to why Bevo didn’t do it the last 3 weeks!

I mentioned Lewis Young had to dig deep vs Draper and he did. He’s still a bit of a liability around the ground but given he’s played a total of 2 games in the ruck it’s understandable.

Both Treloar and Dunkley lifted which was great and I thought Bont’s 2nd quarter was important.

We are about a 3 goal better side when Keath plays.

No reason we can’t beat Brisbane and I think our guys will relish playing in front of their hostile crowd.
Hostile crowds seem to fire our boys up if anything bring it on!

You've gotta laugh - mate just messaged me to have a look at the last 2 pages of the Bummers autopsy thread - still so many idiots claiming Weightman staged for frees. Bet none of them actually saw the incidents, just going off their board "vibe". Maybe they should actually watch his reaction of still playing the ball after the contact, instead of a Duckwood flailing of arms to claim frees. F***-knuckles.

Can't agree, DR.

No-one, repeat, no-one is as unfunnier than Charlie Pickering!

Hughsey is pretty close, though :tongueoutv1:

You guys need to go to a Peter Helliar gig. Mildly amusing on The Project using footage lifted from social media to milk laughs - yet still x100 funnier than his stage show. We have The Project on one telly some nights, but when it's the combination of unfunny Helliar, expert on everything Aly and laugh stupidly due to empty head Bickmore, I feel like gouging my own eyes and ears out.

Remember when he came to the club for some reason and made lame jokes about the players? One was about Mitch Wallis’s curly hair. It was embarrassing really.

Why was it a poor umpiring decision? As far as I could see Drapers arm went over Cody's shoulder. Incidental or not, it was still a free kick.
I personally think the better description is that Cody went under his armpit. Just don’t think that incidental contact is paid all the time so I am not sure if it should have been paid then. Just my opinion as a one eyed doggies supporter.

Watching the replay Lewis Young looks quite a decent ruckman. Won a lot of taps lunging and jumping over Draper.

Problem was however that our mids were expecting him to lose the tap and were hopelessly out of position for his taps.

He is deceptively big IMO, but needs to work on his positioning obviously.

A lot to work on, but definitely has the potential to play as a ruck long term

Dave Hughes, has there ever been a bigger sell out?

Remember he started as an unfunny scruffy bogan type, playing on being on the dole and now he's the unfunny, scruffy bogan type thinking anyone gives a s*** about his views (on anything).
Bigger sellout than you know ( or maybe you do). He started out as a Bulldogs supporter but Carlton was winning more flags at the time so he swapped to them.
Just saw Prince Imperial already posted this.

Was only a month or two ago that I was saying I couldn't see Young ever making it as an AFL player. While I haven't entirely changed my mind, his game on Sunday definitely helped improve my opinion of him. One of his taps was an absolute monster where he leapt over Draper and made him look how English looked against Grundy

You are totally correct about beating Brisbane. They have some key injuries that help us. But more importantly, I think the reason we improved throughout was that the lesser players in Young, Schache, VDM, Gardner, Hannan all lifted. Schache added another dimention to our forward line. Not crashing packs, but presence, unlike Bruce. Not sure how to describe it, but he was crucial. Two key goals and created one or two others. VDM kicked one and gave one away to Hannan. Our team looks really good and the media experts all think they will be beaten by Brisbane. They just have no idea.

I don’t think so - Melbourne are very strong, Port have got all their flair players back at the right time to compliment Boak, Wines and a pretty competent defence, and there’s obviously a chance Brisbane turn it on when they play us anyway.

But I have allowed myself to dream, and it’s a good one. The rule is now “you absolutely cannot win the flag from outside the top four - unless you’re the bulldogs, who have now done it twice”.
That would trigger so many folks. 2016 was a fluke, so if we do it again then no doubt it'll be a fluke again.

Just between you and me, I have to ask you how you know about Devon Smith's member?

I’ve just posted something similar to this on a MB thread, but imagine if Toby only gets two weeks and GWS somehow beat Geelong and Melbourne to get to the GF. He’s playing when he shouldn’t, against the dogs of all teams who have also scraped through.

What a ******* week that would be.

Most journos are a bunch of pretentious w@@kers who have their heads up their ar@es, especially the Murdoch ones. I have had to deal with them as an academic and they have to be constantly educated on complex issues while they pretend to know more than what you have Been specialising for years. they live in a bubble of their own.
