I just read the article it was a "guide". It doesn't mean he has been delisted, just that guys opinion that he will be. There is nothing offical on the eagles website about it either.

"Guide" doesn't mean he made it up - the only information on that list is official data about comings and goings.

(Also, when that list first came out it didn't show any changes to the rookie list. I doubt this is something anybody would change their opinion on after the fact...)

Until I see it officially posted on the Eagles website, I won't be believing anything I hear about Buszan not being promoted. Although if the club was confident he would be ok long term surely they would of promoted him by now?

Good comment, that list form the AFL site has had mistakes on in the past. Recently Ryan Turnbulls name was on as a delisted player then a couple of days later it was back on the team list, then when he was officially delisted it was back on as delisted. This was over a period of about 2weeks.
Just have to wait and see.

The only reason I can think of is that his ankle must be really really dodgy and won't hold out that much longer. Still seems really odd to me though? Why not keep him another year and see if he improves?

I agree Vis with Cummings gone we may aswell have gambled on Buszan for 1 more year..

I hope Whoosha knows what he is doing, although at least he is coming in and isnt afraid to shake things up a bit..

This further update from Gary Stocks :-

I'm not sure whether Dean has had recent tests on his ankle, but it is a problem which will never go away. It's a matter of how he deals with it and obviously he did it very well last season.
He was invited to remain on the rookie list, but decided it was in his best interests to nominate. That doesn't mean he won't be drafted by our club or actually retained as a rookie. All that depends on what transpires over the next five or six weeks.
He's a great young bloke and we all hope he achieves the best outcome for himself.

I see it was his decision, but i guess he was told he wouldn't be promoted yet so he HAD to do what was best for him.

he hasn't been on it for that long yet, we could have kept him on, he chose to nominate for the draft.
