Yep.

I'm going to be genuinely gutted when he goes. More so than with any other delisted player.

I'm probably gonna get banned dealing with the f***wits on this board who revel in his delisting.

He should have played already, and he should play the rest of the season. He's a better AFL player.

As much fun as all of that 'The Future' stuff was at the time, you have to wonder how much the pressure of that kind of expectation messed with the guy's head. I hope we as a club/supporter base never put those kind of expectations on a young player trying to make his way in the game ever again.

Dominate at SANFL level.
Gee it's almost like there isn't a solid and reliable link between SANFL form and AFL potential!

Maybe Sam Gray isn't going to be a superstar either?!?!

Gobsmacked.

Keep him, 1 year deal reduced salary or rookie listed I want to see him starting up forward again though I liked that last quarter he produced against Nord & no it wasn't just the goals, he just looked dangerous for the first time in quite a while.

KPF's don't grow on tree's and I don't see the point in throwing one away for SFA, not much to lose really who's gonna take his place on the list anyway some skinny runt kid 4 years off debuting.

*El Scorcho's gonna send me a xmas card

As a HBF/mid. So we bring him in as a futureless fauxward. Kicking bags in the SANFL - the metric JoBu's detractors demand of him - does not apply to Stew.

When Stewart was in great form I wanted him to play down back, Blame the coaches for throwing him forward.

But this is the crux of it all m8.

For whatever reason, the metrics/rationale by which players are judged aren't at all consistent from man to man, role to role.

I think it's important to note that the players that replace omissions in AFL side shouldn't necessarily be the best SANFL players.

They should be the players who will make the AFL side the most better. Both now and long term.

The game of tweener deckchair shuffling we've been doing for 2.5 years at the expense of blooding key position forwards is the single worst thing that has happened under Hinkley. The selection of Paul Stewart for the past few games to play as a forward (I guess, he's been mainly unsighted) is absolutely baffling unless we've stuck a fork in the season and we're rewarding him for loyalty and SANFL form.

It sounds ridiculous but we let Kane Cornes play until his send off and maybe the Stewart selection is just another example of our soft as butter Care Bear attitude towards everything.

Ah Grasshoppers - never use a round 1 pick on a dodgy kicking KPP.

Stick to midfielders.
SO true - for some reason any young kid who is over 195cm and can take a grab playing with boys is 'something special'.
Picking talls in the draft has been littered with failures - Buy a tall - draft a small

The Butcher selection, however was correct at the time. He was touted as a top 3 pick at one stage but 'drifted' to us.
Unfortunately Butch had/has two major issues at the time. Injury and kicking.
I think he kicked 1 goal 10 in his last junior match.
Surely we can at least give him a try out at AFL for a few games this season.

I couldn't disagree more really.

An enormous percentage of KPFs who "make it" are taken in the first round.

Keep drafting them in the first round until you find one. Midfielders are a dime a dozen. KPFs are like hen's teeth.

It kills me to see teams just persist with kpp's even if they have rubbish periods....yet we persist with pocket players at best

We are so behind developing a kpf we probably need to buy one now...
