I don't want to upset people but bringing in Butcher would only be for entertainment purposes. The bloke shouldn't be on the list, let alone the first 22.
Well I am upset.

How can a person be so wrong? It's redefined my feelings on the entire human race

Weird time to put a player down after he has kicked 7 goals in his last 2 games.

It's not based on is last games solely RossFC. Sure they were reasonable performances but he's simply proven in his AFL games that he's not up to the standard. Mitchell plays well in the snafl, but he doesn't have a 278 page thread. I wouldn't pick Butcher but if Ken does him I'll cheer for him.

Cripes are we at this stage?? my fear is we play that badly again which renders any forward useless let alone Butch & he has a mare to boot.
I'm under no illusions about Butcher being able to mark against good defenders, he won't unless he comes over the back of the pack. However he can do that when others draw the attention of the defenders.
And he is mobile and can snaffle a few off the ground when play gets mixed up. That occasional demonstration of crumbing ability has always bumped up his figures when his set shot kicks have failed.
He's by no means the answer to our lack of a fit and/or competent FF but he is clearly better than Dixon.

Well butches marking is his greatest strength. and at the moment he are struggling to take marks inside 50 and dixon is our only big option for to many of our I50 entries with Westhoff being used behind the ball a lot. Bringing in butcher isn't that bad of a move.

We need either him or Howard to come in.

How is he not proven? Every AFL game I've seen him play he's at least had a crack. Amazing when he gets a decent run he does okay. He needs more than 3 in a row before we can make judgement. Honestly couldn't be any worse than that insipid performance we saw yesterday.
