Quick question..........

I want to ensure the three Adelaidians I'm taking, and I, are sitting in the North fans section. I did a quick check on Ticketmaster, as well as the www.kangaroos.com.au site, where I clicked the tickets option, and neither gave me any help.

Any suggestions? I'll call the club a little later today if I haven't found an answer but I thought I'd check with the BF Roos faithful first.

Cheers

What about the Cheer Squad? Find out where their tickets will be allocated and maybe buy around them.

Remember in '02 those scumbags (Crows) at AAMI only allocated the cheer squad with the bearest minimum of ticketing. That came back and bit em on the butt cos we beat them and knocked them off 3rd spot.

Anyway, if we're miles in front before 3/4 time there will be plenty of seats.;)

Thanks Gabbie. Cheer squad eh? Hmmmmmmmm, yeah, nearby may well be the go. Only one of them barracks for Port, with the other two neutrals.

Who's the ticketing agency for Footy Park again? I'm pretty sure it's not Ticketmaster and I can't remember who it is.

I've been to plenty of Crows v Roos games there but this will be my inaugural Port game there. I look forward to seeing the difference in the crowds..........not the numbers, but the type of supporter. My imagination tells me that it'll look like a mass escape from Yatala Prison!!

In my experience BASS won't be helpful, I've asked to sit near the North fans area in the past and was assured I had been, I found myself on the other side of the ground from the Cheer Squad!

 lol

Hey Roobunny.........for the Crows game last year that exact thing happened to us. We were directly opposite the Roos Cheer Squad, despite assurances to the contrary.

Well, I phoned Bass and the girl was very helpful. She said that they only reserve a section for opposition supporters for Crows' home games and finals, other than cheer squads. After much debate as to where I should choose to sit we eventually settled on centre wing in the outer (which I assume will be the Port heartland)...............Bay 130, Row K.

If anyone else is still to buy tickets for this game, PLEASE feel free to purchase seats nearby as I may need assistance once the allegiance and passion takes hold of my vocal chords!

Cheers

Good Luck TT Give em Heaps

To be honest I've never experienced bad times at a North v Port game as the ones i've been to were in ACT and Melbourne and we won on each occasion. Strange mob, but harmless. Tho it helps sitting amongst the Roo faithfull.

Thanks Gabbie. Yeah, my experiences with their supporters in CBR and MEL have been the same.......no probs. They've seemed more like any other team's supporters from the other Melbourne clubs. The Crows group however have that pack mentality and can be a little precious.

I was umming and ahhing about where to sit and my eventual decision was based on "Why not sit dead centre wing? The best view in the house isn't an exclusive reserved area so f%#k 'em!!!...........PLUS, I couldn't give a toss that they'll outnumber us as any Melbourne based fan knows, we're used to being outnumbered and it NEVER quietens our decibels of support on the day!!"

I've got the bloody "Twin Peaks" theme playing in my head now lol

Thanks again and I reiterate to fellow Roo nutters.............purchase tickets for Bay 130!!!!!!!!!!

I'm buying my tickets tomorrow TT, I'll try and sit near you for solidarity!

To be honest, I usually don't have any drama with Port fans at AAMI.

For Crows games they usually put the North Cheer Squad at the Northern end of AAMI Stadium.(New Grandstand end)

For Power games the North Cheer Squad is usually at the Southern end of AAMI stadium.

As far as footy supporters go the Power fans are meant to be more feral than the Crows version. I beg to differ.

I would rather go to 100 Port V Roos games at AAMI rather than 1 Crows V North at the same venue.

T'toes ....It will be a different experience for you.The Power rarely come close to filling AAMI stadium and the games have a totally different atmosphere to Crows matches....Toes , your tickets are on the wing...Good spot but you will be surrounded by Port fans there....I've just had a look at a map of AMMI stadium and the opposition cheersquad gets bay 140 for Port games (Southern end of ground)

Ticketing arrangements for Aussie Roos members is the same as usual....To secure your reserved seat ring BASS SA on 131246 quote your name and membership number.Tickets can be collected on game day from the Northern Info window between gates 4 and 5.(Membership card must be presented.

Gates open at 10.45am and the game commences at 12.40pm

All the latest Kangaroos merchandise will be available for sale from club marquee outside gate 5.

At the conclusion of the game ,you're also invited to attend the post match function in the Stadium Room where some players will be available for interviews /autographs.A signed team jumper will be raffled , drinks at bar prices and entry by gold coin donation.

Melbourne members/supporters who travel over are very welcome to attend the aftermatch...The Stadium Room is located upstairs in the SANFL Members stand (approx behind the coaches boxes)Non SANFL members are allowed into the SANFL Members reserve once the final siren has sounded.

May well see you there then RB. I'll be able to give you a belated congrats for your wedding! I'm sure I won't be hard to spot, as I'll be the only bloke in my row and section with a North scarf. I'll be the one doing the Bruce Lee impersonation each time I venture up the aisle to purchase a pie or a drink!!! I'll look out for you RB after you let me know where your seats are.

I'm looking forward to it for that reason too Cororoo..........the different experience. I look forward to comparing it to my Crows games experiences. I guess how we both go in round 1, and the weather on the day, will have a big say in the crowd numbers at AAMI. It'll be nice to have some room.

One of the guys I'm going with (my future brother in law) is originally from Elizabeth, so I'll have him interpretting for me when the toothless Port nuts get stuck into me. I need to know what I'm retorting to!

Good luck out on the wing TT:D
Gutsy effort that.
I've opted for the southern end of the ground.
Hopefully you can hang around for the aftermatch in the Stadium Room.

I'd love to catch up after the WIN (it's always great to meet our devoted BF Roo folk, particularly the interstaters) but I'll have a flight to catch, after a quick drive back to my inlaws' joint in Holden Hill. We'll be rushing for sure.

Do we get much, if any, noticeable support at the Port v North games over there?

When it's spread across the ground it's difficult to gauge the numbers .On average at aftermatch sessions i would guess there is probably 200 or so stalwarts in attendance.Sometimes more ,sometimes less.

Some of these are Melbourne based members who come in for a drink after the game...The people who travel over with the cheer squad always attend.

I feel the same too, would rather go to a Roos/Port game over a Roos/Crows game any day of the year. The stadium is a lot less crowded and find the Port fans much less agro than the Crow fans.

I will definately be attending the after match with my wife, oldest son and mate, really hoping to meet a few on here then and have a few quieties. Will be good to meet in person.:thumbsu:

Well if it becomes more Crow like than Port like, in the crowd, and the aggro boils over I've certainly trained for the event after my full on verbal and slight push and shove incident with the biggest aggro twat Pie fan on Saturday!!

I couldn't hear a great deal in the last quarter, with my headphones on and the game in the balance, but I turned to see the big d%#khead turning around and swearing aggressively at my old man, who was relatively calm. He took it up a notch and made threats so in true Archer fashion a light went off in my head and it was ALL AHEAD FULL, in defense of my dad. Fairdinkum, this bloke was a peanut and I think he was quite shocked that the bloke he was swearing at profusely wasn't actually there alone, and also with the level of aggression I displayed from the moment I felt compelled to do something.

Apparently it started from dad objecting to this bloke's constant swearing and criticism, of a very personal nature, of Daniel Harris. It went on all match and dad later told me several others around (also Pies supporters) had told him to watch his mouth etc.

After I told him "Let's take this outside then big boy..............you've got a big mouth so let's see if you can back it up eh? Loser............!!!!" he mellowed and eventually walked out but bloody hell the whole thing's so unnecessary.

I trust that the Port game and fans will be far more reasonable than THAT TOOL!!!!!!

Toes ,

I know that you will be likely to not go out of your way to look for trouble. However , if things get out of hand and you feel that it is unsafe or you are being unfairly picked on , look for one of the many attendants with red coats.Let them know of your concerns/issues and they deal with these matters quickly.

The red coats do not put up with much crap from anyone.

Thanks Cororoo but honestly, it'd take a great deal of abuse to get to that stage. I'm more than happy to field a bit of banter, and remind them of the head to head record weighed so heavily in our favour. It's just a game!! I can look after myself so it'd take a section full of Yatala inmates on day release to get my feathers ruffled.

If we were sitting in a section full of red coats and I saw what I saw and heard at the Pies game it wouldn't stop me either. Once a physical threat comes out of the blue and the target is a family member it's all instinct from me!

I'm sure it'll be a great crowd and a lovely day at the footy, AAMI style. Once again the odds are stacked way against us so we go in as major underdogs....................just the way we love it!!

Like last week, I want to see our boys have a red hot crack and to create pressure. We did so on the weekend but the forwards let the rest down with poor kicking. Let's hope we can turn that around...

Hope you guys going to AAMI enjoy it as much as I did when we unexpectedly beat the Crows there in '03 - they lost 3rd spot and pfffted out of the finals real quick that year. Didn't come across any agro Crows fans at all, mostly got strange looks from em like we were "aliens" and the "what are u doing at OUR ground" look.

Big hello to the nice S.A. based Roos fans we met in the bar after the game.

And should we win I hope TT's partee comes across a "nice" Crow taxi driver who will let you hang your scarf out the window like the "nice" Port taxi driver we had who gave us the gohead to do so with our scarves.

A BIG GO ROOS FROM ME VIA CAIRNS ON THE WEEKEND!!!!
