If anyone can find video footage of buzza taking a one grab mark. Post it here.

Not a one grab but this one isn't bad:

Sadly, his last match (which was in 2018, not last season) was his worst. He was clearly nervous and dropped some simple marks. People remember that match and project it back to his previous games.

He has taken five marks in a match once and four marks twice. I don't have the visual evidence, but I'm guessing at least one of those was a one-grab mark (as probably were several others).

Whether he's up to AFL standard over an extended period is doubtful, but I hope he gets another chance.

Yes the bit where it hits him flush in the head is particularly funny.

Good luck to Buzza at his new home

DELISTED Geelong forward Wylie Buzza has landed a career lifeline at Port Adelaide.

The 23-year-old was the first delisted free agent to find a new home when the window opened on Friday morning.

Buzza will receive a one-year deal at Alberton and provide relief to the Power's key forward stocks diminished during the Telstra AFL Trade Period.

Port have lost a couple of talls so hopefully Buzza will get a chance.
Frampton showed a bit in his few AFL games and was playing well in the SANFL, with him now at Crows there could be an opening.

3 years at Geelong and now at least one with Port for a rugby kid from the bush who wagged school to trial for Aussie Rules,I bet he never thought he'd get even this far back then.Good luck Whylie.

The "Welcome Wylie Buzza" thread on the Port board is a humorous read.

Yeah one thing I'd say is don't take the negative comments too seriously, our club has made so many dumb mistakes over the last few years that the reaction to pretty much any Port decision now is naturally negative - and probably moreso when this pick up is not long after we have lost fan favourite talls Dougal Howard & Billy Frampton. Wylie seems born to be a cult hero so once he settles in and our club turns the reactions should be very different.

For anyone interested in seeing how he fits in to our KPF depth, it does look pretty good for Buzza:

Dixon - Big bodied #1 KPF but who is 29 and injury prone
Marshall - Classy good below the knees (ie would complement, not compete with Wylie) #2 KPF
Hayes/Ladhams/Lycett - rucks who can rest up forward

and apart from Westhoff who I'd expect will likely spend most of his time down back in 2020, that's pretty much it.

He has the look and the name to be one. Unfortunately, probably not the footballing ability. If only every player with a wacky name and haircut worked out.

What he lacks in ability he makes up for in heart and determination though. Would've been awesome if we could have somehow transplanted Nathan Ablett's talent into Wylie Buzza's body. That would've made one hell of a player.

I agree with that. I dont think he will make it as i think his marking is too subpar but he will give everything he has to improve. Good luck to him.

I hope being only 23 that he has some more upside to him and keeps improving.

Taking Buzza based on good form in VFL is like us raiding the WAFL / SANFL / VFL (our non listed players) as we do. We have had misses but the cost was low. We have had wins Kelly / Kreuger (still under inspection but he has done eveything I would want at a new club)/ Stewart, Atkins. There are plenty of other examples I am sure, of winners and losers but right now they escape me.

My point is I guess is this bloke has a big body and plays like it and with determination (nothing lazy about him). He is a lovely field kick and OK at goal. He can shank the odd 35m kick but is always a chance at 50m . His overhead marking is not good but he does take some and his defender rarely does.

The key for me is delivery to him. VFL is pretty chaotic and add that to GFC ball movement (notoriusly laboured). If Port mids can get it to him one on one or put the ball into dangerous places and small forwards get to know his strengths he could be value.

At 23 I reckon the Buzza play is worth it (little cost with possible upside long term). Also he is a great clubman by all reports.

I have seen a fair bit of Buzza in the VFL and am very pleased he gets another crack.

I'm sure that most of us wish or hope the best for the players on our list - but surely this comparison I've just read on FB is more fantasy than anything anyone here would have ever considered?

Also not sure I've actually heard/read any Cats fans saying this anyway:

To all the cats fans saying "We don't need Buzza because we are getting Jeremy Cameron next year" well......lets hope Hawkins doesn't want to retire anytime soon hey!

Westhoff retires, Buzza, Grundy among delistings at Port

Gees what has happened with time? I swear it was like only a year or two ago that westhoff was a super promising kid who just got smashed by scarlett in a grand final.
