Going the double because it has been along time between drinks. So for anyone who has matured like an aged wine should get the reference....number 9...number 9....number 9....number 9.....number 9......

Alright let's crack on; Bruce Lindner, Tony Hall, Kym Koster (also wore 5), Tyson Edwards (also wore 37), Rory Sloane (also wore 31)

The big one may well be Sloane v Edwards. Right now, I can't go past Edwards who played over 300 games and played in two premierships. Never really got his deserved respect amongst the rest of the AFL, but was shadowed by the likes of Roo, Goody, McLeod etc. For mine he is up there with those three. Great legend of the club.

This is a tough one!

I loved Zooma but Sloaney for me. He has those intangibles and the leadership but Zooma was was of my favourites. Seriously underrated player through his entire career. It's surprising that such a great player never won the B&F.

This would have been a three way if Lindner had played all his career at Adelaide, hugely talented footballer. At the moment I reckon it is still Edwards just ahead of the Batman

Edwards right now.

The smother he laid in the 97 PF was important (but i think the kick was missing anyway)
but important nonetheless

Sloane a chance to overtake him... may need a flag though! make it happen Batman!

Definitely Tyson. He made time stand still, was so calm and reliable.

Sloane for me

Zoomer was a great player at our club however only 17 players have won the Blight medal at our club and he is one of them and is likely to win another before his playing time is up....

Either way it was a good choice for Zoomer to hand Sloane the #9

Picked Tony Hall because he is one of my all time favourite players.
And has a pocket named after him. Tyson and Rory dont have that yet

Didn't Tyson have 2 medals around his neck in his first 100 games?

Don't get me wrong, I rate Sloane highly but Tyson has him beaten by a couple lengths at this stage (IMO)
I dont think it should really matter about premiership medallions when comparing individual performances. Edwards was just in the right plac at the right time in 97-98
So many great players go through their careers without a premiership.

But with that said, Edwards gets my vote. Mr. Reliable. He was the Mike Hussey of Aussie Rules. Always so calm and reliable when going out onto the field. Never did anything over the top special, but was always always named in the best

And bless his Cotten socks

The comment was referring to the comparison of where they were both at over 100 games. Sloaney may have better stats over the 100 but my memory of Zooma was that his disposal was better than Sloaney. Add that plus a couple of medals and I have Zooma in front for the the by the numbers thread.
Another 100 or so games from Sloaney and I may change my opinion.

See, I can not even remember Marsh playing in the GF.
Blight always likes an extra big fella;
97 - Rehn, Pathetic and Keating
98 - Rehn, Pathetic and Marsh

If it is any consolidation I don't think the 98 team remember seeing him either ;)

Might have needed the extra in 97 because Pittman was doing what he does and blanketing Stewart Lowe.
