Jeepers Troy, he was disappointing in the last year or two but he made a contribution on the field during his good years.

Where did you hear this news?

Edit:- Channel 9 news, OK. Well if true then I would like to thank Bish for the many good games he played for us and wish him well in his retirement.

Re: Bye Bye Bishop!!!!!

With all due respect Troy, that's a pretty low thing to say about a permiership player. Bish was a great serviceman and it's not his fault the club played him too long.

Agreed, during his good years, he was a very important piece of our premiership defense, but now he's a hack.

Read my previous post for where I heard it.

Hmm.

So we didn't get anyone new in, and have now delisted Bishop.

Which means we were retaining Bishop in case we traded another defensive option away.

Which means we were considering trading one of Chaplin, Pettigrew or Carlile.

I think we may have dodged a bullet in this trade week.

Re: Bye Bye Bishop!!!!!

If true thanks for your services Bish. you were a vital cog in our premiership defense but unfortunately now your past you used by date. All the best with whatever you go on with. Perhaps play for Souths next year.

Pettigrew I would have found acceptable depending who we got in return. I can't imagine any way Chaplin would have been on the table.

Let me make this clear.

During his good years, he was a very important player for us, and I greatly appreciate what he did.

2005 and 2006 he became useless and a dud.

Stupidity.

Was a top defender in your Premiership years, him and Paxman were very underrated by other AFL fans and this tool, from his own club, bags one of his players that played a good part in your Prem. years.

Respect Bishop, liked him as a player.

Was fast, tall and athletic.

Apparently James Ezard will not be offered a new contract either according to Channel 9 News Sports report.

That I'm not happy about.

Thanks for your contribution Bish. You got more out of yourself than many thought possible. You will always be a Port Adelaide Premiership player and that is a special thing.

On the other side of the coin, its very exciting to think of the opportunity that a young player will get from his departure.

We probably did Porthos but the way I had heard it leading up to trade week was that we were going to delist Bishop and wakes subject to us positioning ourselves to to draft Hansen who is considered AFL ready as a backman. Hence the frantic efforts to push for a pick earlier than 5. So it may just have been a timing thing.

Best thing is we can now take Choco and Rhode for their words. They are on a rebuilding mission, no short-cuts. Certainly means one Hart will be playing interstate if he goes on next season which is good too. I was worried there for a moment.

I hope we will keep Jordan Russell as part of our PSD pick plans now and not even consider Makepeace seeing now Thornton has re-signed with Carlton..

Finally. The Powers that be have actually got rid of Bishop.

Now, all you hyprocites. WE HAVE ALL BEEN BAGGING OUT BISHOP ALL SEASON. Troy posts what everyone has been saying and he gets bagged for it.

Stand up and have some balls.... post what you have all been saying during the season.

Fine, he was good in our premiership year but went down hill from there. The axe has been swung and I for one couldnt be happy and Im sure that others will agree.

Why the hell are they delisting Ezard??? Surely there are others that could of been shown the door.

Lets hope that they dont screw up with the draft.
