And what was the Game Plan under Schimma? Imagine what the game plan with Carey in the side would have been under a Bright Spark like Mark Neeld? Play Carey at Centre Half Back? Oh don't go short selling Pagan because of Peter Bell's off the cuff remarks. :stern look
I don't think he's too far off the mark having read Duck's and Boomer's books.

But sure you keep talking up the genius of Pagans Paddock because if a rocket scientist such as Gerard Healey can spot it and label it as he did in July 1998 well then call me Sternometer.

Here Ye is a question for All in Sunbury. Who would make the better coach? Zondors or Wild Bills? :stern look
I'm not going to enter into that Zondor, but what I will say is I think your posting could do with a lot less of the personal insults. As far as I am concerned you are overstepping the line.

Sure argue your point but stick to that and stop the other rubbish.

Fixed. No need for the vinegar on top Zondors. :sterner look

The last time I took direction off someone in a gimp mask, it didn't end well.
Yeah Duff was brutalising that night at Carrara.

Peter Bell was talking on radio before the Freo v Cats game last weekend.

When asked about the game plan it was simple 'kick it to Carey '.

When asked about Pagan he was 'scary'.

When asked about winning culture he said 'they always expected to win' because they had Carey.

Stein look.
Without wanting to take us off topic (heaven forbid), just for some light relief: BF posters on the Eastern seaboard may be entertained to know that Peter Bell is well on the road to becoming the king of breakfast radio in WA.

He took over on ABC 720 from a bloke called Eoin Cameron who was undeniably a legend of radio over here but was forced to retire due to seriously ill health (and actually passed away soon after, most tragically).

After a few people did the breakfast show on an acting basis, Belly was awarded the gig. He may not necessarily be everyone's cup of tea or coffee first thing in the morning, but on the figures his show is now the most popular in at least Perth (not sure whether or not regional WA is factored in).

Getting back to Gaso's point, I didn't hear that particular interview/conversation, but can well imagine Belly would be good value recounting his time under Pagan - straight-down-the-line with no window dressing. A bit like his former coach.

Good to see Belly making his mark over yonder. I remember flying to insterstate games with the team on the same flight back in the day and he was always busy typing away on his laptop while the others slept or joked around. A smart cookie is the little bloke.

Didnt know where to post this but found it alarming that we've been playing 3 talls in our forward line for 6 years.
6 years with the same forward structure.

Its actually hilarious.
Like a bloke who's continued to wear his pleated corduroy pants from 1987, certain they'll come back into fashion and when they do he'll be ahead of the pack.

Yeah, Zondors.

Go back to Indiana where you came from.

Just kidding, Z-Man. Keep stirring that pot. But I'm with Horace - perhaps in future rather than calling someone a 'dildo', it'd be far more polite (and entertaining) if you referred to them as a 'sex toy' instead.

"Zondor, the most influential and enigmatic denizen of the North Melbourne Bigfooty forum, is a veteran troll and pioneer of the alias account. Since the early 2000s, he has enjoyed the dubious privilege of being the only user allowed to create and sustain aliases with impunity. Though he is a complex character and there are subtle and major differences between each of his accounts, he is known chiefly for a lewd and puerile yet endearing sense of humour.

A notable feature of his posts, spanning well over a decade, is the consistent references to gimp masks. Accompanying this enduring fascination with the BDSM facial garment are the paeans to a motley array of abstruse oddities including the following..."

People are seriously distilling Pagan's success solely down to Carey?

How about his ability to get the most out of both workhouse and "x-factor" types of players?

Of understanding which players to push hard and which players to ease off on?

His perseverance with reluctant players like McKernan and Archer?

The switching around of gameplans with fair success?

The ability of North Melbourne under Pagan to almost always peak in September.

The bloke was a great man manager at North Melbourne over a period of sustained success.

One thing we always did under Denis and to a lesser extent Dean and almost never under Brad was no matter where we were positioned that year, have the ability to take out some top teams regardless. There was always a sting in the tail.

Pagan won us 2 flags. Stop over-simplifying it.
