Questions and concerns were reasonable - obsessive calls to sack the coach were not. Two bad losses in a row - one to a very good side - were enough to settle Scott's uselessness, so two good wins in a row - one against a very poor side - might as well even things upa bit. The size and quality of this week's win doesn't say he's North's next premiership coach, but it suggests the calls to say "bye bye" were hasty.

Richmond and Hardwick are apparently rubbish now that North have beaten them, but they were looking pretty good after they thrashed West Coast at Subiaco - and I didn't see all this confidence before the game (especially amid the usual disappointment at team selection). Just enjoy it.

LOL.

As I said by all means continue to be easily pleased by our last 4 years of mediocrity under Scotts. :stern look

Also mate we were 14 points away to possibly being a "Top 4 Side". I'm not sure if 4 draws would have us in the "Top 4" at the minute. :stern look

Wouldn't four wins put the team 16 points higher and in the top 4?

And yes, compared to what other rebuilding teams have delivered, I'm happy with mid-table finishes so far under Scott. Not forever, but as stepping stones they beat the hell out of where Richmond, Melbourne and the Dogs have landed - and there has been enough evidence for me this season that our team is becoming capable of much better.

BS has work to do, starting with this week.

We are something like 10 and 23 away from Etihad under him.

In 2011 we lost 7 games by less than 3 goals and this year it is 6.

We field competitive teams not top 4 ones yet.

BUMP

Where are you Scott haters tonight?? Nothing wrong with his game plan when we have our best midfield in I see.

Hope you didn't cheer once today when he coached the pants off Hardwick !!!

Crawl back under your logs with your tails between your legs !!!
He had a win today, but be honest his learning curve needs a sharp improvement. He even admitted to taking this tactic from last weeks game..........learning it off the ol master.

Watch us play a 15 man back line when we have a 4 goal lead with 5 mins left.

Thanks for showing him Sheedy you old racist f***.

The thread isn't entitled "some concerns". It says "Bye Bye Brad". And "your lot" are always up and about during the down times, repeating the same shit over and over and acting disgusted and outraged at every selection decision or comment in a press conference.

9th, 9th, 8th is actually pretty good considering the list overhaul undertaken. Scott didn't do a Ross Lyon and walk in to a ready made finals list, he has turned it over and got games into young guys. Most others do not dream of 8th/9th finishes during that kind of rebuild.

And even if the above is just accepting mediocrity, have a think about this. We are a cumulative 10 points away from being in the top 4 despite having the hardest draw in the league. Say what you want about points are all that matter, that is 4, in the moment player decisions away from Scott having us in the top 4 in his fourth year.

That is Grima not falling in Bartel's back, Goldy clearing a down the line kick over the line, Hansen standing in front of Nic Nat and Atley not going up in the contest with Petrenko.

That is it, and we would be top four and have beaten both premiership favourites.

So based on four bad decisions by 4 different players, you think we should be considering getting rid of the coach?
Good post........This is a bye bye brad thread yeah?? Who ever started it was probably angry after a frustrating loss yeah??
And has been potted for it, but there are (I think) a lot of us who are in this concerned group where we question why Brad Scott doesnt display flexibility in his mind set on dropping underperforming players, taking the inititive to make changes to counter act a glowing problem ie :- a killer onballer giving us a pasting without having a Hine or a Greenwood brought in to neutralise said onballer.
I understand before it where it was useless to ask a young onballer with less than 50 games under his belt to go out and play that neutralising role when he should be learning to ply his own talents focusing on the positive/attacking brand of footy and in doing so probably costed us games along the way......he did this with the long term plan view, now these players now are approaching 100 games now and from time to time they need to be directed to forgo their own game for the sake of the team on any given week and do a job on a player...........Maybe it was in BS's initial grand plan. He did bring in Hine from the Gold Coast, not to develop his natural talents as a footy player but because of his excellent negating effort on Boomer in 2012. I think he is doing a great job but I do also wish he show the under performing players the door :- back to the VFL when its appropriate (will be interested to see Wrights attitude to this now)
Another thing will be interesting , if all players play their role next week win lose or draw what he does with Lindsay Thomas..........I mean he has had a great season (bordering on AA selection) but his stupid head butting episode should see him go back to the VFL even if its a lesson point from BS not to do it again.......LT shouldnt think he is a walk up start when available again nobody should. Im pretty certain malthouse would probably do this .....we seen what he did to Yarran.
But again Scott would be the 1st to acknowledge he still has a long way to go in learning his craft as a coach.

There was a distinct & LONG OVERDUE 'shift' in the gameplan this week a la R.Lyon/Fremantle style, though we have a better forward line. There just might be hope yet:)

Have I missed something? Why is Sheedy racist now?

Not missed anything but I'm just not a fan and he is a fraud of a man.

Great coaching record though, just hope he's showed Brad irrefutable proof that its hard to score when you have a million people behind the ball.

Its been a freaking hard lesson for us to watch him to learn.

No argument on Brad's learning curve.

However if Saturday was a sign of how we intend to play - I like it.

Was impressed with the way we went about it on Saturday, an obvious shift in gameplan by B.Scott:):thumbsu:

I loved what he said at 3qtr time - the message was also evident in the players responses - we monoitor our tackles and pressure acts - if we do that well the game will be played on our terms. FINALLY - it has f***en sunk in - defend first attack second - great teams are built on great pressure and tackling. We get this right along with our defensive structure - we will be unbeatable.

Did Boomer come back through the VFL? Did Ziebell?

Different situations. Boomer is a club legend & Ziebell is always returning from suspensions....no form issues with these 2 blokes.

A club legend that sat for 6 weeks because of a brain fart. No form issue with Thomas either.

Very nasty DR............Zeibell's outings have been contentious, wasn't a plain headbutt whilst for Boomer we may be in the 8 if it not for him.........I would hope BS has read the riot act to him privately, we may have got a hint of that when BS commented on Crowley the other week. Thankfully Boomer has realised he cant go round swatting opposition players without it being at a price to the team.

DR:- if you dont like my postings mate, it appears you don't with the above post then the ignore button is your friend.:)

Agree. Not sure what your point is though:)

Why am I not surprised you can't see the point. You can't just let other players waltz back into the team then make another come back through the VFL. If you want to set a standard then it applies to every player not just one.

Lose the attitude DR I'm being civilised here:p I agree that players out of form should be dropped no arguments there. My point was that Levi was dropped originally due to form hence via VFL, the others have simply been suspended which does not warrant a return through the magoos. Perhaps you misunderstood me:)

Yes 4 more wins would have us in the top 4. If we didn't lose a game we would be on top. If my uncle had a cut n shut he would be my aunty. Let's deal with reality. :stern look

Last season we coughed up sizeable leads against Port and West Coast to be defeated. We also coughed up a sizeable lead against Brisbane to win by a far smaller margin then we should have. This season the trend continued. In addition we took some big scalps last season in Geelong and Collingwood. This year no big scalps. Evidence you say. There is your evidence.

My point is that after one game. One game! That some on here think that the criticism levelled at the coach was over the top. Please. What Nonsense. And people on here think that Clokey is off his dial. :stern look

Hopefully the Richmond game is the start of a new dawn. Scott coached well on the weekend. Run with players in Hine and Greenwood doing a job. An increased emphasis on the defensive side of the game. But after 4 years the jury is still out on Scott. Time will tell. :stern look
