Or it might just take longer then a week to learn from a mistake. But hey lets overreact, let's sack everyone in charge of teaching the players.

The improvement in the team is easy to see, just need to fix this close game loss issue(which will happen, just be patient) and we we be a very very good side.
Last week wasn't the first close loss under Scott. What's his record for games under a goal? Who have beaten this year? Have we really improved on last year? Cunnington hads, JZ has, after that I don't think anyone else has improved while others gave gone backwards.
Unfortunately it's part of the painful learning curve we're going through.
:) It's an unfortunate part of the trail, but we have to go through it. You'll be happy with the outcome.

Look who we have lost too, we have improved as a team. We have a percentage of over 100 where in years gone by there weren't small loses. We were smashed when we came up against the top quality of the AFL.

Once we can close out games we will be a very very good side. It's only around the corner so have some faith.

What horseshit. Losing these games doesn't magically give you some springboard to be better next year.

Dean Laidley teams closed out their ******* close games. I'm getting tired of the shit heaped on him lately.

The bloke coached with no administration supporting him, constant innuendo, 3rd world budgets and facilities and no club direction. Still got his team into the finals 3 times and won plenty along the way.

Brad can show something more than a nice turn of phrase and one string of wins before we start hooking JYD.
Nothing against laidley mate he did a great job with what he had but we where never going to win a flag with him as coach ,Brad Scott on the other hand we might ,i would like to see how things are going early 2014 season before i pass judgment .

Not many teams with a 3-6 record and sitting 13th on the ladder will have a % of above 100. These close matches hurt really bad but I really believe that we are improving. Brad and the leaders of the club really need to fix this issue quickly and we can be a real force.

Do you remember the Port Adelaide game last year? Tell me how we have gotten any better.

Yes I do, more so mentally then anything else. I've thought this way for a couple of weeks now. This team will not play finals let alone be competitive let alone win a Grand Final, don't let the close looses fool you that we are close because we are further back then last year after that thumping in the elimination final.
I'm not fooled by the close losses and after every game I've pointed to the reasons, be it the players or the coach for the loss. Honestly, if you think the team right now is worse than the team which lost the final last year then I'll struggle to take you seriously in the future.
We need shinboners. Not these mentally weak fairy's that Scott has developed!
Curiously it was Harvey and Wells who both missed bread and butter shots in the fourth quarter and Petrie was ordinary for a lot of the game. He didn't develop them, did he? By the way what did you make of performances of Ziebell, Thomas, Cunnington, etc (the players he actually has developed)?

Percentage means shyte if you don't make the finals. Just means dropping down the draft order!

As much as this loss hurts, we have improved. I actually don't think the problem is Scott this year it's our lack of leadership on the ground.

We star quarters very well but finish them awfully and that is a direct reflection of the lack of onfield leadership. Unfortunately you just can't pluck them out of thin air.

I seriously think we need to go for a quality senior on field leader in the off season.

Worst coach ever. Way worse than Spud Frawley or Tony Shaw.
Worst post of the night. **** me dead, this is stupid.

He has not learnt or changed a thing in 3 years. Teams still just go coast to coast at will and get behind our defenders. Either the back 6 is the worst ever or the structures are the worst ever.
You clearly aren't watching us at all if you believe this rubbish.

We would 1st on the ladder with JYD as coach. He never lost the close one's coz he understood that defending wins games.
We lost countless unlosable games under Laidley. We may have won a few more close ones but we also got beaten by very ordinary sides every single season.

Mate, I didn't expect this from you at all. Quality post. I'd prefer a senior assistant though to a senior head on the field. I firmly believe if we fix the forwardline functionality then we win a lot more.

Blame Scott - not for the loss.

I blame him for playing out of form players form to long. There isn't any pressure on these guys to perform if they won't face any consequences for their poor form.

Wright,Adams and a few more should of been dropped by now.

We are way to slow on transition.

I call it as I see it UYI. I don't have any agendas, I just love this club and vent an opinion to help soothe my disappointment or annoyance.

I think Scott's coaching this year has been very good but if I had one criticism it would be to drop a couple of seniors players but who do you replace them with? He's up against it for now.

You're right, it's leadership that is the problem. When Drew had that last possession, there was not a player in our side who demanded the ball; who said "No! We are NOT ****** losing today!"

Spot on.

At some stage a player at your club in these situations MUST take the Hodge roll on ......
Drew , Booma ...who ?
Does this player just not exist on your list ...

Stark over reaction to be worrying about the coach at this point. No doubt we are all shattered after throwing away another game we had set up but hardly the coach to blame. I like the way we have been going this year. The only bad performance for mine was round 1 in Collingwood where we butchered the football. A quarter against Sydney was terrible. Other than that for a young side we haven't looked out of place against good sides. We probably haven't lost to anyone that is terrible as well.

It won't be our year this season. We still have a hope of finals. We look better now than what we did at a similar point last time. Couple of winnable games in a row and we might be 5 and 6 and half a chance so don't jump off yet.

<3 Aaron Black.

I think Scott's coaching has been great. If a few highly paid guys followed suit we'd be right.

What? That "I am the worst coach ever" and "I haven't learnt anything"?
No, that they went coast to coast all day and we couldn't do anything about it. This has been a constant problem yet the team is learning how to deal with. Therefor the coach isn't doing his job.
