That's not unreasonable. No one on the market who we need to bite the bullet on, which is also a factor. Why sack Scott if there is no one better out there? Dew is looking likely but he's not likely to get the Blues or Bomber jobs, and he'll still be around next year. But I hope the club has a long-term plan in place starting from now in case things aren't up to scratch in 2016.
I think he has been given great support. My point was, if we have won 4 flags in 100 years, then perhaps flicking coaches rather than backing improvement is the wrong way. If results were the only thing that mattered then when would have people complaining after 6 in a row.
I can't see how anyone can say what Scott has done with the list/club has been a waste of time.

I agree with this and hence remain optimistic. Like most here, however, I just hate the fact that the team still can't put it together. Six in a row is great, no doubt, but in each of the last five we have been destroyed for at least a quarter by lesser opposition. The worry is we won't get away with it against better opposition, so why is it still happening?
It is frustrating, but we are nit the only team that is losing quarters then consolidating for the win. Freo has lost at least one quarter in each of their last 4, including games against saints and blues.
Understandably, the worry is what will a good team do to us in our down quarters. The next 3 weeks will tell us.
The positive view on this is that we are absorbing pressure every week, not getting run over, staying composed at the end and powering to wins.
It is a valid question however a lot of the doubters are obsessed. Similarly they were horrified about us throwing away our future by recruiting Higgins and Waite a few weeks ago. Things change quickly, let's see how this season pans out. The opposition hasnt been great, but every team we have beaten over the last 6 weeks apart from * has pushed another top 8 team.
Looking forward to next week. Win that, get Wellsy back and things will get fun.
I'm amazed that Brad Scott prioritised giving the forwards a rocket at quarter and half time when they were starved of opportunities by the pathetic efforts of the midfield. Brad, 37 inside 50s to 15 at half time. FFS, make the midfield accountable if you want to keep your job.

Good to read your posts again Kelman. I find it astounding that BS isn't moulding North into a tackling machine - pressure team that has clearly showing Hawthorn as mere mortals. Do coaches bother watch the measuring stick of the league?
Good on Hardwick in figuring it all out and clearly the Cats last night showed that the Hawks are extremely vulnerable to relentless pressure but unfortunately for North fans, we have to put up with an on-going snooze/ handbrake second quarters even against lesser teams.
If we win our remaining three will people just stfo about the coach? He bleeds for the club, we've just won 6 in a row for the first time since 99.
It's time we got behind our club and be united in our push to September. Enjoy the ride.
For all the posters calling for Scott's head.... Who do you propose we replace him with? MM?
Sick of the infighting on here, grow up and support the club ffs.

What a load of shit. He doesn't bleed for the club, he bleeds for his job. He'll be forever a Brisbane Bear. When he leaves the club he will leave the club. He'll have an affiliation but he'll remain and Bear for ever. Ron Barassi doesn't bleed for North, he's a Melbourne man.

I would propose we undertake a thorough recruiting process and appoint who we felt was the best fit for the job (obviously not right now but at the end of the season) whether it be an assistant or a previous senior coach, the same as any club would.
And don't confuse infighting with good discussion - not all opinions expressed have to be positive.
If you saw how abysmal both teams were in the first half and for us to actually let the saints get a run on and make us look worse than * you would have been seething.
We ended up with a win against a rabble of a side who if they had kicked straight would have been in an unassailable position at half time.
Good coaches make sure their teams are mentally prepared to play, we weren't. Too many times under Brad our boys aren't switched on. That's why nmfc will be nothing more than a bottom 8 team that may win a final or two but we will never challenge for a flag - I don't think brad can take this group further but the group has the talent to go to that next level, that's why it's time to find the right replacement for Brad.

When I recruit staff at work I look for self-starters. This mob are not self-starters and need a rev up from their coach every friggin week. Coach must be pulling his hair out FFS.

But he gave them a rev up after 1/4 time and didn't work so he had to give them another rev up so they decided they better start playing..... It is both coach and player at fault but ultimately it's the coaches team. Anyway hopefully they realise what the next 3 weeks mean.

It's the coaches team. We've won 6 in a row and are sixth on the ladder in the most competitive season I can recall. I admit we are playing like a busted arse but we're still sixth. 10 teams could not have pulled out that third quarter. I can only see upside.
Anywho my issues with Brad aren't so much about today but are about the future. We have zero youth coming through that you or anyone could say are going to make it. A-grade types.
Sure the likes of Wood, Black, McDonald, Dumont have shown something at different times. Our reliance on 30 plus year olds is alarming for a side that's sitting sixth and won't make the top four. We're caught in no-mans land without it seems a decent plan to get us the last few steps we require- top four. We won't trade out quality players in areas we have in abundance. Not sure why we won't?
The below graph I find interesting....
Geelong, Freo, Sydney, Hawthorn and North Melbourne lead the way for older players. Of course 3 of the 4 gave enjoyed recent premiership success and the other has played off and a good chance to do so again- What's our excuse?
