And as bad as ‘84 was, we hammered one grand finalist and lost by a goal to the other. The 80s was ups and downs.
We could beat anyone on the day, with a couple of seasons where it looked we might pinch one.
We couldn't beat shit with a stick at the minute.
This is light years worse than the 80s. '84 was our worst season by a mile and id take that over any of the last 6 years.
We were downtrodden and on the nose for the latter part of the 80s SW. I can remember feeling mighty upset at the floggings we were copping on a fairly regular basis. But at least we had the ability to win occasionally so the last few seasons have been worse I guess.Shit no. Back then you felt like we could turn it around fairly quickly. And we were generally pretty competitive.

For what it is worth, when we got Clarkson, I was hoping we would have got Mitchell instead.
Having said that, I can't help but wonder just how much the fallout from the racism saga at Hawthorn, continues to impact on Clarkson's ability to coach at the same level he once did.
I hear this excuse trotted out. It’s nonsense.
Fagan has won 2 flags since.
No it is not nonsense. We are all wired differently and react to things in very different ways. What might be a ho-hum matter to one person, may be deeply disturbing to another, because of their very different personalities.I hear this excuse trotted out. It’s nonsense.

Maybe they are looking at Crocker for the mens team and Daisy for the Womens...l hope not! Keep Crock as Womens coach and train Kearney to replace him when the time is right if she wants to.Tim Watson eluded on radio this morning that we are interested in Daisy Pearce as our next head coach primarily due to the marketability it would give us…
If that happens, just fold the club. Simply fold the damn club. As if we didn’t need more proof the club is a woke sanctimonious cesspit.
I would hope and pray that he is just making up a story and that it's an utter fabrication and nothing more.Tim Watson eluded on radio this morning that we are interested in Daisy Pearce as our next head coach primarily due to the marketability it would give us…

I didn't hear that, simply because my coping mechanisms don't allow to take in any more football media than is absolutely necessary, but I'm tipping that is 100% garbageTim Watson eluded on radio this morning that we are interested in Daisy Pearce as our next head coach primarily due to the marketability it would give us…

Check out the Premiership coach and coach of some 7 draftees of the Eastern Ranges in last years u18/Coates Talent league before you go completely McNuff-Nuff.....Tim Watson eluded on radio this morning that we are interested in Daisy Pearce as our next head coach primarily due to the marketability it would give us…

Anything less than 4-2 should see the end of this train wreck.Realistically, we're going to learn a lot about his future over the first four games.
Port Adelaide, West Coast, Essendon, and Carlton. A 1-3 start, or worse, from that stretch, and we should be looking for a new coach. That may seem like an oversimplification, but with a 1-3 start, you look at the rest of our fixture, and it's hard to imagine us having a better record than 2-9 at the bye.
That's just absurd.Tim Watson eluded on radio this morning that we are interested in Daisy Pearce as our next head coach primarily due to the marketability it would give us…

Can’t see her doing any worse than the current coachTim Watson eluded on radio this morning that we are interested in Daisy Pearce as our next head coach primarily due to the marketability it would give us…

Status quo wouldn't be the target I would hope. Can’t see her doing any worse than the current coach
Yep even Lauren Morecroft who has coached boys with Eastern and VM has got a bigger body of work as a coach. That's just absurd.
Putting aside the discussion of a woman senior coaching a side, Daisy doesn't have a coaching body of work at WC that proves capability to be a top AFLW or AFL coach yet.
If/when she does then it can become a more relevant discussion.

Additionally the racism thing dominated news in Melbourne for a long time. I doubt if it would have been the same in Brisbane. It was in his face all the time. And of course Clarkson was the one who had to bear most of the scrutiny, because ultimately as senior coach, he was the one most under scrutiny. It is absolutely not nonsense to suggest that the racism saga may have had an impact on him.
