I’m not for death-riding him but the 4 are a long time ago, his last years at Hawks were not that inspiring. He needs a second wind that would rival hurricane Katrina to do it all again at the basket case that is us and that wind got taken out of his sail immediately by Jeff Leatherface and his sham investigation.

He’s got the full 4 years on his contract to fix our mess, I think he can but to some it’s been a less than promising start to this year

But no, death-riding the bloke is not on. He wants to be with us. He chose us out of plenty others that would’ve had him (and plenty wouldn’t have come to us so I’m thankful to him).

Agreed. I wish this thread would be deleted. It’s actually so rude. We were all so excited (in fact bloody over the moon) when clarko got appointed. For this rubbish to be posted actually pisses me off.

For all the talk of “North ball” and the offensive weapon, it took Longmuir 1 half to have a look at it and flog it. Took GWS 0 quarters to flog it. Carlton took 1 quarter and worked it out.

100+ every week we concede.

Where’s the defensive improvement? Oh sure we’re missing Griffin Logue (who is good but he’s not exactly Sam Taylor or Jacob Weitering either) but honestly it wouldn’t matter who is in defence with the way teams walk it in.

There is no team defence. There is no pressure. Wtf is going on?

Round 13 is shaping up to be a classic.

We don't have angry Clarko any more. We have soft, cuddly Clarko who may have very well had all energy sucked out of him by the racism investigation. Who knows. His jovial behaviour and even holding the ball shenanigans in the boundary vs Freo last year are just something he never did under Hawthorn when they were challenging.

We need to give Clarko until this time next year - that will be half way through his 5 year deal.

At this stage though people who are saying 'things are on track' are not serious supporters of the club - things are anything but 'on track' and Clarko would be the first to acknowledge that.

Not all of our performances to date are Clarko's fault - there is a lot of history before he arrived - but he does need to own some decisions which have been problematic at best.

The only thing that matters is progress and results - so far Clarko is failing on both metrics and he will admit that.

Alot of work to do from here and absolutely no guarantee we will better this year or next year compared to the Noble or Shaw years.

Right now there is 1 team we have an even money chance to beat - 1 team. That is pretty much as bad as it can get 5 years into a rebuild.

Between your eight certainties and my optimistic 16 is the reality of recruiting/developing between 7 to 15 better players, either from our current list who didn't play on Friday (3?), the 2024 and 2025 drafts, or poaching them. If we go the draft route to replace 15 we are in for a longer period of pain. I think there is more to work with on our list than 8.
