Sicily penetrating the “zone” straight down the middle late in the game was comical. You may as well have 22 on the bench at that point (Sheez on field so he can mop up if the opposition ****s up of their own accord)

There is no coach in the business that is going to get more from this group than clarkson. Must persistCan y'all please stop blaming the coaches as if we have a list capable of winning AFL games?
We don't.

My greatest concern is that we're going to see Clarkson make the exact same mistake as David Noble.
David Noble started by instructing his players to use the corridor, but once the team started turning the ball over he week by week neutered our ball movement until we were left with the most uninspiring gameplan in AFL history.
It can be frustrating to see an opposition side have an easy score off of a misplaced kick into the corridor, but eventually there will be a week where 90% of those kicks are on target and we upset a strong opponent. With repetition to the gameplan and players learning their limitations, we would only ever keep improving.
Dialling back on the risk-taking brings a sense of predictability that AFL sides could beat into a pulp every day of the week. We play without any sense of randomness, and often the opposition looks like they are conducting a training session down back with how easily they intercept and rebound the ball.
I don't see how it's a style of football that's ever going to lead to wins. David Noble never adjusted and that 2022 side truly deserved to go 0-22. Clarkson not adjusting would be completely unacceptable.
I'm also concerned about a complete lack of leadership and football knowledge above the Viney/Clarkson tandem, as it's unacceptable to have this exact same scenario play out again. I wanted a CEO like Peter Bell who could hold the football departments accountable, but instead we went after Jen Watt who rivals Carl Dilena in her anonymity. I'm sure she is doing a great job at the commercial level, but this club needed to put all hands on deck when it came to rebuilding this great club.
Sonja Hood was 100% supportive of David Noble, until it was time to knife him in the back. Noble's ineptitude covered how poorly she handled that situation, as no support or feedback was ever provided until Geoff Walsh was brought in to perform a hit job.
Todd Viney is where the club stops with its leadership of the football department, and the fear is that his relationship with Clarkson makes him incapable of steering him in the right direction.
Clarkson is probably smart enough to come to this realisation on his own, but if there isn't a Watt, Hood, or Viney in his office this morning asking him to explain this past weekend's performance, then it shows that we as a club have learned nothing.
The obsession with appointing an under-qualified Peter Bell as CEO is weird
The club employs a CCO and CFO, and are one of the few clubs that employ a President and CEO who don't have any experience in a football department.
It creates a void of accountability for the Viney and Clarkson duo.
Yeah she's great. Kicked out half of our premium members to sell corporate packages which will no doubt be flying off the shelves to watch a team that never wins a game of football...I'm also concerned about a complete lack of leadership and football knowledge above the Viney/Clarkson tandem, as it's unacceptable to have this exact same scenario play out again. I welcome the analysis but Rhyce Shaw's issues at any level are not the clubs fault. The problem is the playing group and overall culture of the club.
This group has caused Rhyce to have a nervous breakdown and made Noble look like clueless twit (which he probably was anyway to be fair). Now they're embarrassing a 4 time premiership coach, there's no where to hide behind.
They're too s***, dumb and lazy to be able to nail down any game plan they're asked to execute. They never play for any coach longer than a few weeks, even poor old Ratts looked exhausted after his stint.
Clarko hasn't coached well this year, but this group eats everyone who tries.
It seems the only option they might be capable of executing is an ultra simple 1v1 all over ground. At least then no one can point fingers at anyone else, if their man gets away.
We need a coach like Clarko with a secure legacy, who can the hits while tossing out those dragging the club down and building a proper professional culture from scratch.
The near enough is good enough, winning doesn't really matter culture that developed under Scotts is what is killing us. It drags down everyone eventually and kills hope and belief.
I'm glad to hear that, in a morbid way.I welcome the analysis but Rhyce Shaw's issues at any level are not the clubs fault.
Other than us all falling for his unsustainable sugar hit football.
Genuine Charity muggers we have on our hands, their care not for members of the club.Yeah she's great. Kicked out half of our premium members to sell corporate packages which will no doubt be flying off the shelves to watch a team that never wins a game of football...

And to find the culprits look no further than our so called co-captains, and a few others like Stephenson, Corr, Zurhar, CCJ. This is the senior group that are destroying the morale of the team. The problem is the playing group and overall culture of the club.
