Bye Bye Dyson

theres one main difference between jobe and jj and that is jj can run. if this is jobes prime (running wise) i'd hate to think when he's 28

Look while agreeing Jobe may need a spell in the two's it is quite ironic that you are saying trade Jobe and replace him in the side with a guy who was equally as bad at kicking when he was young but was given time to develop his game;)

Not sure he'll get that opportunity without injuries.

then he'll have to really work hard, forcing his way back in with good performances for Bendigo and taking his opportunities again, i think he'll be one of the iffies come end of season, depending on how many spots we need

Watson is a pivotal part of our squad and far better than Dyson, his kicking is not the problem, he's actually a beautiful kick of the footy (He was touted as a key forward because of his kicking abilty), his downfall is his mentality. He lacks the abilty to make decisions unless he goes on instinct. How many times do you see him fire out a ligthning handball to set up a forward thrust or a quick handball recieve and effective kick following? If your honest ALOT should be the answer. He falls apart after taking a mark or running and carrying as he gets more options and cant decide quick enough which one to take!

be very disapointed if dyson isnt there next year. are we at essendon still so blind to see that it doesnt matter how many possessions you get anymore? it matters how you use them can you hit a target? right now jobe watson and kepler cant but dyson can. bloody only 5 possessions by dyson would be better than 15-20 by the others.

There'll probably be another exodus with the more senior guys at years end. Campo, Hird, and Bolton to name three. Might be Dyson's only hope, slim but a chance.

Dyson's problem will be Hislop , Houli, Lonergan,Dempsey and Hocking may well be in front of him by the end of the year.

Ricky's problem is that he is too passive. He tends to let the game come to him rather than taking the game on.

2 things would help his game instantly.

1. Run hard and demand the footy from your teammates, give them no option but to give you the footy(study Brent Stanton)

2. When you recieve the footy then dont cruise, put on those jets we know you have and torch th grass(study Alwyn Davey)

Ricky's problems are between the ears and he'll need to rectify them before Nash, dempsey and co get fit and in form.

In saying all this though he was far from our worst today.

^^^ Marcuz

Between the ears means he lacks the football brain. He doesn't know where to run, how to run and when to run, contest....

His chasing is poor and he lacks courage ( I still the got the Eddie Betts mark from last year in my head ).

You can't teach football nous. You either have it or don't. He doesn't.

It pains me to say this but he's a poor mans Ryan Lonie.

i didn't think ricky was too bad today. although in saying that, pretty much everyone that will come into our side next week, besides hille, plays in his position. so he won't get a game against the hawks. that's not to say that i haven't lost faith in ricky turning into a decent player

More like bye-bye Bradley.
I have never really liked him..
he is a cluts.

I'm sure most would agree that Essendon will axe Dyson before Kepler, even though it should be the other way around. There's no way the club would admit failure with an early draft pick unfortunately.

Scared of his own shadow. Had the binoculars on him a few times and terrified would be an understatement. Paddles at the ball in packs instead of putting his head over the thing and grabbing it. Slow when he had the ball. Bye Bye couldn't come soon enough and kepler can join you.

I think delisting him is a bit of an over reaction. Sure he is out of form, But I genuinely think he can turn into a very good player. As Marcuz said, he just has to put in the hard yards and run the game out. And not everyone is corageous BTW. It is a very good asset to have, but it isnt the be all and ned all of footy. He is still 21 FFS, why would we want to get rid of him.

Yeah good point we should keep the terrified one because he is 21. Not everyone is courageous eg running with the flight and marking but the guy wont even put his body on the line in a contested ball at ground level. Yes he can run and kick long but thats it.

We cant expect everyone to be a champion. I'm not saying we should start him every week, but IMO he is a good fringe player. In certain other teams, he would get a start. There are other players we should look at getting rid of before him. If we trade him, then that is fair enough, but to just outright sack him would be wrong.

Agreed.:thumbsu:

He's got the talent, he just needs to put it together now.

Although this is his last season for chances, he needs to show more before the year's out to keep a spot on our list.

Hardly think Heffernan lowered his colours. He was just unsighted for most of the game, not his fault.

Agreed, Heff is a more than serviceable player. Slattery has definately shown signs of being a future back pocketer, and softc#ck will only ever be a backup ruckman at best. Kepler, Bolton and Dyson not impressed...

Dyson is very weak, no heart and such a waste of natural ability. Reminds me of Bullen and Haynes. Cant wait for Winders to return.

Spoke to Winder yesterday.. Top bloke.. Hope he is back next week.. Dyson will be traded at the end of the year i reckon.. Spoke to Hille too.. Said he has a chesty hamstring lol...

Dyson is quite simply the worst player in the AFL.

Seriously, some of the crap that is posted here when we lose is a disgrace. I guess thats what comes with having such a large supporter base, you are destined to have a fair percentage of twats who "support" your team.
