this is bullshit

he might not be the only problem, but he is a problem and a very big one at that. literally no one expects this to be a cure all panacea, but here we have another one with these garbage implications

There is no coach alive or dead which stops the beltings or these results. We need to get to the end of the year, heal and get everyone fit. Keep turning over the list. Radically overhaul our development.

I said it would get worse before it gets better. Our list profile is Cooked.

strange, i must have imagined the second half of 2021

the talent we have should NOT be setting records for consecutive beltings and be this all round bad

edit: furthermore, you only need to watch us play and simultaneously have a modicum of understanding of football to see that the structures and ball movement are fundamentally broken -- two problems that strike to the heart of coaching ability and nothing else

Cunnington, Hall, Dumont, Tarrant, Atley, Tarryn (virtually), McKay (half the time), even Polec, Anderson (mostly), now Ziebell have to impact an inexperienced team somewhat. Nearly 2000 games of football in those guys. Toss in WP as well.

I love Troy Makepeace. One of my absolute favourites from the “we were good/starting to be mediocre” years. Ball always looked safe with him.

If he goes then would that be 4 different coaches in 5 years?

I’m thinking the coach is only a small part of a bigger problem.
I don't disagree that there's a larger problem, but since 2017 people have been carrying on about the list being the problem, that it had to be turned over, despite it being almost entirely different now to what it was back then. Now we're calling for turnover again.

Noble's game plan is pretty ordinary and the results are reflecting it. He has proved himself incapable of fixing it. We need to get rid of him so we can start looking at the other problems at the club.

Yeah, because Ben Cunnington was playing. And there were other list cuts of senior players.

Maybe we don't watch the same team, but please, shooting Noble will fix our problems immediately.

Cunnington, as good as he is, is not the difference between a competitive team and breaking all time records for beltings

and re the bolded, please show me one example, just one, where I've said that. go on, champ, just one

I love Cunners. My favourite North player possibly ever. But I don't think we're falling down where his speciality is (clearances and contested possession), especially with LDU going up another notch this season.

We've been belted this year with Hall, Tarryn, Jed, McKay in the team, everyone wanted Polec delisted, and the others were role players. edit: other than Taz, i guess, but who had been average or worse since mid-2021 tbh

Cunnington is the only one who would have made a tangible difference, but not to the point where we win any of the games we've lost in this streak. he also isn't responsible for structures and ball movement, which, as i said, are coaching responsibilities and are fundamentally broken

it's the most ridiculous cop out from people who bizarrely refuse to engage with any of the real problems

I daresay we'd have cleaner and deeper inside 50 entries. Too many of our "clearances" are hack kicks forward to a contest. Nobes really hasn't addressed what should be one of our main strengths.

I don't disagree, particularly with clearances out of the middle, but our inability to transition from D50 to F50 isn't something Cunners would fix.
