If that wasn't the worst performance in history, I don't know what is. We need some players with skills, no doubt. Guys like Cochrane, Blakey, Makepeace and Stevens could not kick the ball straight if it was attatched to a line.
To make things worse, Carey will get rubbed out for a couple and probably Byron too (he shouldn't).
This is the worst skilled team for years. No, correction. They are on par with our previous years but our competition are much better and we haven't improved at all.
Call me what you like (particuarly u Malibu) but this team is far from a finals team with the skills they showed today.
And Burton, what the hell is happenning with him. Everytime he was on he was SHIT! Goodbye North, give the youngens a go, its time to look to the future.

Found myself supporting the Roos last night. There is something I don't like about a great team having to rebuild while the champion players suffer indignity they don't deserve from all and sundry that used to get caned by them. I feel sorry for Carey, even his best will not be good enough for todays Roos.

For what it is worth, I thought the breaks didn't go North's way when the game was there for the taking in the last quarter. The teams were fairly evenly matched generally, Martyn was not that bad as he had no support. It was the 2-3 year players that came up short. Unfortunately that does not look good for the future. The amount of Roos waiting for a pass to come to them instead of attacking it while a Crow took it away from them was amazing. They are shellshocked. This sort of thing doesn't happen to the Kangaroos. None of them are used to it. I think the nail has been hit on the head. Time for a new game plan!

The sad fact about the Roos side is that there is not one player in the MK`s that can be promoted that will improve the side.

Denis stated after the Sydney game there would be brutal changes but he realises there is nothing there from the experienced group.

Does swapping McLaren,S.Motlop,Calthorpe,Spaull,Lange,Clayton,and Rawlings with Olarenshaw,Cochrane,Makepeace,Sinclair and Watt make any difference?

No because they are basically bit players!

Pagan has to make a decision to play a side containing some young players in preference to some players in the side who are not performing or have lost pace and desire.Not on the bench but in the 18.

We may lose some games because of a lack of experience but is it worse than now?

Highlighted on the Footy Show this morning was the little incident of Carey throwing a fist right into Kane Johnson's face... can you get reported for that?

Also can you get reported for spitting at opposition supporters? I was there and actually saw it, couldn't quite believe my eyes. He was provoked, but can spitting ever be justified?

What an absolute load of drivel.

Very easy CIK to come on and bag Cochrane. I seem to recall him playing on Jarman who had 16 possesions and no scoring shots compared to his 10 and three hard tackles.

Grant was playing in the full forward line a lot of the time and given the amount the ball came in his 16 kicks and 2 goals was serviceable.

Sinclair gave plenty of run through the centre and he did set up two goals by holding onto the ball and running wit it and drawing the crows players to him and then going short rather than bombing long.

Picket playing forward enabled the ball to be held in by strong tackles and chasing and the kickouts at last seemed to have some structure.

Only thing that was a major dissapointment was centre ruckwork and clearances. Why we do not man up in the centre and slow it down to a nuetral contest? We were on the backfoot most of the night defending.

Jones showed some touch when he got a chanc ein th elast quarter along with harris when he finally came on.

What the f*ck???? The way some of you are going on, you could be forgiven for thinking that we just got done by 15 GOALS instead of 15 points. Some of the breaks didn't go our way....but as Darky has posted earlier, the two sides were evenly matched. And over the years....take out the two (revenge motivated) thrashings we handed out to them in 1999....our matches with Adelaide have tended to be tight tussles, so they were long overdue to win one.

Pretty much agree with Choppy's comments.

We can't win a game because we are being cut up in the ruck and at the centre clearances. You obviously have not noticed that Cochrane is being used as a tagger ie Schwass and Ricardi who had squat possesions and influence on the game, pretty much what Jarman had last night.

Even though I have only joined this forum and the official one for a year or so, the fact is, since 1999 we have had trouble with our skill.
I have said it from the start of last season that we needed more skill and ability to use the ball. Wayne will kick 10 goals a game if we had a midfield like the Hawks, which isn't actually one of the top midifields, they at least have a couple of guys that can kick the ball straight.
And another thing. Blakey and Stevens are great Roo players. Buttheir era is gone. You can't get away with sub standard possessions anymore. I am sorry but their disposal is just not good enough. They get the ball fine, but they cannot use it. Simpson included.

They have the ability and skills to kick it short and accurately they are just doing what the coach asks of them.
