Bye planning

Think I’ve got my plans all sorted for the bye, pending the always likely injury or “extended 2 week bye” that some players always seem to get for that extra rest!

Rnd 11
Savage-Brayshaw
Ratagoulea-Smith

Rnd 12 (prepare for upcoming rnds)
Mutch-riordan (if selected) or Stoddart
Billings - rocky
Poholke - giro

Rnd 13
Guelfi-Lynch (gc cheap as chips stepping stone)
Merrett - gaff
venables (don’t ask how he’s still there) - another playing rookie

Rnd 14
Ronke-hogan
Coffield - Ahern
Pearce (Freo) - rookie

Will leave me with this team
D: Laird, Lloyd, Simpson, Brayshaw, Ridley, Stoddart/riordan/O’Shea/rookie
M: Macrae, Mitchell, trealor, gaff, Coniglio, Neale, Cripps, Phillips
R: Gawn, Martin
F: Mclean, Heeney, Smith, rocky, Hogan, Lynch

Here’s hoping my planning works out without too many kinks

Positive for round 13, we get to loophole Macrae on the Thursday night and change to Mitchell Saturday if not happy with Macrae.
(And finding a DNP will likely be a breeze)
I usually like to reward Cameron as Captain for his service in these scenarios!

How many ‘premos’ does everyone have out this round?

I’m looking at Simpson, Yeo, Mitchell, Ed Curnow, Bontempelli and McLean.

Is that about par or a few more than average?

I have Sic, Titch and McLean out. I would say you are probably 1-2 premos above average but you are probably better set for the other bye rounds. I think I’m definitely unders and should have more

I have 5 this week, with 5 players total out.

Yeo, Sicily, Macrae, Mitchell and McLean...

Looks okay! Drop back a smidge this week, power through the other two weeks !

I have: Simpson, Sicily, Titch, Macrae, McLean. And maybe Coniglio?

Good point, I may also have Fyfe out - the idiot !!!

Ok, here goes documenting my longer term plans..... Lots of assumptions and hopes in here....

Round 12:

Mutch - Giro
Crowden - Ahern
Fyfe (if he misses) - Westhoff

Round 13:

Brayshaw (Freo) - Rookie Mid
Spargo - Kerr
Phillips (Saints) - Gaff

Round 14:

Doedee - Rookie Defender
Ronke - Coniglio (via Westhoff to FWD)
Sinclair - Grundy

That's a 5/8/9 structure over the byes, not including Cameron - who won't play any of the weeks. So really a 6/9/9 structure if you are honest. This week is all about getting rid of non-playing spectators from the side, and getting one who has already had the bye.

Would leave me:

D: Laird, Yeo, Seedsman, Whitfield, Sicily, Brayshaw - Rice, Rookie
M: Macrae, Mitchell, Gibbs, Coniglio, Gaff, Merrett, Petracca, Coffield - Giro, Rookie
R: Gawn, Grundy - McInerney, Cameron
F: McLean, Franklin, Westhoff, Caddy, Rockliff, Fritsch - Ahern, Kerr

Would leave me two mid pricers (Fritsch and Petracca) plus one rookie (Coffield) left to deal with. Not the worst setup, but shows the advantages of generating cash and getting your selections right early. Will have around $120 - 140K at the end for another upgrade. Really need the likes of Giro, Ahern and Kerr to maintain their outputs.

Be interesting to look back at the end of the bye weeks to see how much injuries, luck and my own stupidity changes this plan.....

Assuming (LOL) no carnage. I really want a sub 200k defend with some JS this week else I have to get Austin.

R12
English -> Jones
Waters -> Ahern
Pearce -> Austin

R13
Spargo -> Rookie
Doedee -> Yeo
Naughton -> Simpson

R14
Richards -> Rookie
Parker -> Not sure who yet, will depend on $
Ronke -> McLean

Just crunched my numbers with only this weeks trades factored in

R12 - 20 playing
R13 - 19 playing
R14 - 16 playing.

I think im okay with this as its a 2-6-10-12 structure which seems about normal. I havent factored in Premos at this stage but 2 weeks should be enough time to fix that R14, and part of that is 4 saints players currently in the team.

Initially for me was 4: Simpson, Macrae, Mitchell, Mclean.

But copped Laird and Coniglio on top of that.

I added Fyfe and Laird too. But swapped Fyfe to Westhoff...

Nice work. This was a big bye week for me, with Macrae, Mitchell, O'Meara, Yeo, Naitanui, McLean and Sicily all on the bye.

Cogs and Laird out were curve balls, but managed to hold them and still field 18... Hoping the next few weeks will be easier!
