I was disgusted at the send off Hawks gave him. He deserved so much more. Legend
the demeanor of players at official functions is always different to what it is when you catch up with them at training, Family days, sausage sizzles - or bump into them in the street.
fact is - unless your name is "James", or ends in "eedy", the Victorian footballing fraternity couldn't give a flying **** about you.....so I didn't expect much more

I've got about 2 dozen photos of Roo with my kids - and he's been more than accommodating each time
Why should it change?? Ive seen the same attitude from Rucciuto whether it be After match funtions, dinner Auctions both in Melbourne and Adelaide, Club Champion night in 2003, Breakfasts in Brisbane, you seriously must think I live under a rock, The AFC is more than South Australia get that through your head.
.......what I'm trying to do is reconcile your view - with my equally numerous first hand experiences....I'm saying he's always been friendly and accommodating when the situation has allowed for it.You know what Ive never bothered to ask, why because of what I may face if I do, that was his attitude.
There are some AFC players I would approach without even a second thought, you either have it or you dont, Riccuito had zero people skills.
Maccas - with respect - you really don't see 5% of how Roo is at functions in Adelaide from where you sit.

People know how to deal with fans. Others dont. Roo is a shy person deep down. Shy people dont deal with fans too well. Dont take it personally.
But they didn't really get the opportunity did they?
Make the opportunity. We did.
That is how Ricciuto is towards supporters always has been and was till the end as we seen yesterday.

He probably thinks that you're a tosser or something Marty. You should have shown more respect to him when you got to see him more than most. You know what Ive never bothered to ask, why because of what I may face if I do, that was his attitude.

Got his autograph on my scarf after the 2005 round 22 match at Subi...was very approachable...he signed many that afternoon
Never the same mood, lets look at Rnd 22 2005 a winning game, a game where the AFC had won the minor premiership, mood effects him as it did yesterday, as stiffy was saying a few weeks ago for his final game at AAMI and I now agree with stiffy he owed it to the supporters in Adelaide to play.
Dont get me wrong here the guy on the footy feild was and out and out champion.
There are many players that are champions but they also deal with the supporters better, I felt yesterday and even though Hawthorn won the game that Riccuito needed to honour the supporters, what is football at any level without supporters???Uncomprimising. Inclusive. Proud.
But your original point was he is ''never' approachable ... I pointed out he was, Mad Dog has pointed out he is.
You started by saying he never acknowledges milestones and wanted him to acknowledge the crowd yesterday...if he had done it through his career I would agree...but it seems your annoyed by his consistency![]()

Link me to where I said he was never approachable![]()
Only the week before at the after match he couldnt be bothered with supporters wanting a photo or an autography he was knocking them back by the droves, he simply wasnt interested.
What for snubbing them his whole career just like he did yesterday???

So where did I say he was never approachable????? Or do you fail to understand simple english????
I didnt say that at all, you are making it up![]()
They were still playing the club song and most were still celebrating a final won with the last kick of the day, their first final in six years.fact is - unless your name is "James", or ends in "eedy", the Victorian footballing fraternity couldn't give a flying **** about you.....so I didn't expect much more
